First car I drove on the road legally was a 5 door Renault 5 campus, bought for £90. Like this, but it was blue. I drove it around until one day the door fell off and I abandoned it..

Countless cr@ppers later, I now own this

First car I bought was the first car I learnt to drive in on private land as it wasn't road legal :) a red '79 clubman with no floor section on the passenger side and none on the rear, no side or rear windows no mirrors no bootlid no lights and a bit of dust on it, but it did have bull bars which I thought were awesome!

Bought it for £50 on bank holiday monday of easter in 1993, yes I remember the day :dontgetit: The seller asked me if I was buying it for a science project or something :)

Was scrapped in the end and I can't even remember the reg no' but will never forget the experience :)

Had quite a bit since and now I'm back with a (sort of) clubby so a nice circle of life >_<

Think the only one I didn't pay for straight off was my third, a black 3 door Mk1 Metro on silver Weller 8 spokes :) This was because I had only 5 weeks previously got my second car on the road only to have it demolished in spectacular style in the middle of a six car pile up  I was a touch skint having just bought, rebuilt, taxed and insured it! Incidently the first was a beige MiniMetro on a W, so a pretty early one but a total POS. In fact Metro number 2 was supposed to be an engine donor for it, but as no.2 drove in a straight line and had a wheelbase of the same length both sides, I put a floor in that instead lol. Was only a temporary bale out anyway. Other than that I've alway been cash in full rather than loan or finance as I was brought up to believe 'if you can't afford it you can't have it', so Ive always had to buy tax and insure my own.
My first project I bought tho was an Opel Kadett C coupe for £350 with a dodgy exhaust and dodgier ticket and the old chap went nuts when I told him I hadn't got the logbook...... :o

Though the other half and I own an Audi A8 as well, which is just a little different ;)

First car was a 1990 Vauxhall Astra SRI when I was 17 at the end of 1997
The car cost me £1500 and my first years insurance was £1550!
The car was a 3 door white with Red SRI on the door :withstupid: Chav'tastic! But better than an XR2 or XR3i which were my other options and I was really happy with it. It got stolen about 6 times in 8 months. Always got it back with a broken lock and an empty tank

Next car (bought while owning the Astra) was a 1980s mini bought from a scrap yard which then sat round a friends house for 12 now years and is only just making it onto the road now... However after 5 years he bought it off me.

I seem to have risen somewhat through the ranks as after having god knows how many company cars I now own a 1972/73 pick up and I am the other half with the 4.2 V8 Audi A8 ;)

First car I bought was a 998 mini for £600 which is still the best car I ever owned. If anyone knows her fate it was BLX 125Y.
