Got a letter through the door by the police with big letters on the front
saying
NOTICE OF INTENDED PROSECUTION
and thought this cant be good

initially thought it was 6 points and up to an £1000 fine

but if i accept i was driving (which i was) it looks like itll be a £60 fine and 3 points
(and possibly a considerable hike in insurance as im under 21)

but hey bound to happen eventually just taking it slow from now haha

if anyone was wondering how fast i was going it was 40 in a 30
in my defence it was a dual carriage way with no street lighting or residential homes near-by leading towards the m25
A240, Reigate
mobile camera

always thought it was 40 there but i guess not

shame its such a nice bit of road

rant over, having a cuppa tea

Didn't they give you a chance to do a course about speeding.
When my boyfriend got speeding, he got offered to go to a day course in speeding, you have to pay £40ish but it gets you out of points?

It's easily done, but since I was caught speeding at 7am on Christmas Day (! !) 5 years ago I have chilled out a lot

In the South West they had a scheme where you could take your points and pay the £60 fine, or pay the £60 to go on a speed awareness course and not have to have the points on your licence.

When I heard this, I thought the course would be dull and not very good, but apparently it was great! A few of my friends went on it, and seriously, they're approach to driving is completely different now

Guess what though. Government cuts have led to this scheme no longer continuing :D

It's a shame because I think it really made a difference.

they dont let everyone do the course for some reason you have to be doing a certain speed to be able to go on it.
i shouldnt think insurance will be too bad i got caught when i was 18 doing 89 on a motorway and it went up a little but not much i remember getting 2 quotes with and without the fine just to see and it didnt make much difference £20 tops but i get rid of my points on 26th december

i got pulled over the other day for speeding. I was asked to go and sit in the car and was told about speeding. I appologised to the officer and he didnt give me a fine or points. However he did pulll me again about my wheels sticking out too far. Iv got 12x6 on with minispares group 4 arches and apparently they still stick out too far. Evenn tho i had to change the arches wen i got pulled for my wheels b4 and given 14 days to rectify the problem. Which i did and got signed off. Any way at the end of it he gave me a nice little slip of paper saying i have been driveing carelessly and irresponsibly and if i get pulled over again in the next 12 month i can have my car siezed. Aint that nice.

Sorry for the rant
