I have no joy with fuel MPG best on the motor way at 68mph in top on tickover was 22mpg.Round town in first or secound is a joke. The Evos are also very cheap to buy but as i am on the view i have i see them as challenge on the road.If they are standard no problems.A £250 service at any dealers for a Sports car may get the oil changed.
still think the Toyota Supra might be a good cheap standard fast car as long as its got full service history. They are very fast and only around 5K.I would like to try one.Spent that on my new pistons.

Yes around town i would expect the Supra to do around 16MPG standard with the odd blast. If you both drove one with care they have a big engine so should not need to many garage visits. We do have to look a bit at fuel costs over a year and high octain fuel only in many, insurance to,oil changes are also expensive every 3 months just for the oil grades. The RX8 engine is a bit like a hair dryer in a nice case.

Just test drove a Hyundia Coupe 2lt se. One of the worst cars in the world imo it was heavy rattles all over the place the leather seats were solid no give in them at all and the dash was like somthing from the 70's.

PS: Must try and get the misses to get another Cooper S

Very thirsty and consume oil (special) at something like 1 litre/1000 miles.

It would be a purchase of the heart and not head IMO

My mates dad has one and keeps getting told off by the Mazda garage when it's servicing time as he doesn't thrash it very often, so my mate takes it out every now and again to kick it's head in :w00t:

I was tempted by one a few years back, a 231PS in black with red leather, but chose my A4 Audi instead. Just looked on Pistonheads and you can pick them up for under £5k which is quite good value.

As for mpg, it can't be any worse than the current 12.2 the Range Rover is showing

I also find large engines do need a good blast to blow the cob-webs out or they start to play up.My dad had the old BMW 735i.High rev. Engines must have plenty of revs,no good if you only like 3000 rpm.Scooby goes lumpy without at least 6000 rpm from time to time, then she loves her fuel and i like the sound when she purrs. They also run hot best.

My STI is horrendous on fuel. What about integra type R dc5.
Good round town, goes like stink over 6000 rpm and spares readily available. Not to mention honda's Vtec engines sound amazing when wound right up:).

As for the fuel its only for local runs

Apparently they're not very good for short distant cars because the way the engine works it needs to be revved to higher than 6k to avoid flooding the engine.

ok thanks and your source of such info is????

A mini club member works for a ford/mazda dealership and his workmate bought one back in with a flooded engine caused by this. They are fine, just need to be revved hard once every run to burn off the ignition fuel
