I think everything I have sold on here as been to someone with less than 150 posts, most of the stuff I have bought has been too, I've been stung once in here recently £140 but paypal refunded me eventually.

That sounds like it will work out better overall. One suggestion if I may is to have a Buyer/Seller feedback forum. That way a you can do a quick search to find if there good to deal with or a flake. Another site has this set up, and seems to work. There they post said username and email address in the subject line. (allows for quick search's)

+1 to the 150 post

No need, all you have to do is look at their post history. If they've got a history of backing out of deals then that will show up immedietely. Don't forget that users won't be able to edit their posts in the classified area, once its typed it stays there.

You can do the same for sellers as well, all you have to do is look at their old topics

Using the "search" function you can search all posts by user in the classified area easily.

How would newer users know when they have reached the 150 posts to allow them to post in the classifieds?

Sounds like a great idea and the rules that have been put in place are excellent.

Just one idea that may be of use and is used on another forum i use (with over 40,000 members) is a "Trusted buyers/Sellers thread" Its just a place for buyers/sellers to leave feedback about their buying/selling experiance. And then at the top of the thread the buyers/sellers names are listed in bold so that prospective Buyers/Sellers can see that the person they are about to deal with has a good reputation..... or a star or something is added under their name a bit like the TMF+ logo so that it shows the same thing .....

Anyway its just a thought

Keep up the great work guys

Sounds a much better system! the only problem i can see is if a Noobie posts loads of cac threads double posts and what not's to get there posts upto a hundred and fifty? will there be someone checking there threads are decent before they are allowed to sell?

Anything that looks like spam can be reported by anyone, and warnings etc issued from there. This really shouldn't be an issue

Also can we keep the postcode/distance idea. Its really useful and lets you see straight away how far away items are, so you know straight away if your going to be able to pick them up.

Before that system came in and people just said 'item located in: .....' Half the time i'd never heard of the place and had to run it through google maps to see I could pick it up!

Very true. I agree with this if we can keep this feature.

Overall, well done to the admin team for the behind the scenes work for doing this. I totally agree with the 150 posts you need to sell/buy. I know quite alot of other forums i frequent have a similar setup.

Not with this version, its maybe something to look at with future board software. What we have at the moment simply won't do that.

What we have stipulated though is that all ads should have a price and location, any that don't contain this info will just be deleted on sight.

I take it there will be a kind of base layout in the new thread page like for the technical section? That would surely mean no one should miss putting a location and price in.
