Not a huge update as I have very little free time as usual, but I decided to actually put a few hours aside to do some bits for my own car for a change.
Started making a plenum chamber. It was initially going to be aluminium, but due to the long runners I plan on using I decided it needed to be lighter, so I'm going with carbon fibre.
First job was to make a foam mould.
Then made an ally plate that will be wrapped inside as part of the mould. This will allow the runners to bolt to the back & be removable and the throttle body.
This is how the two parts will fit together.

One step nearer. The carbon plenum is now almost complete,

Nice bit of machining that. So what does the carbon plenum bring to the party Phil?
The main function of the plenum is to equalise pressure a cross all inlets for more even distribution. As it's a 7 port I will have a single runner for each intake valve.

The manifold is in production at the moment and I'll get some pictures up once it's done.

It's been a long time ! Got 26cc from the chambers. What a nerve racking job it was knowing one slip with a carbide on aluminium could make a real mess, but thankfully my years of practice paid off !

If you had taken the block to Bingly with you, you would have known that the head didn't fit before you bought it. !
