Has anyone fell prey to the dodgy handle sets that seem to be hiiting ebay of late, considering the second hand value of these sets I really feel that we need someone who has genuine items to post accurate pictures of them so we can compare snides from the real thing.

Here are two pairs of handles found on ebay at this time:

Can anyone confirm the real ones from the fakes (Sorry if they belong to anyone on here but as we are all enthusiasts we need to be looking out for one another)

Asked a friend who has them fitted to his Cooper S works and he reckons the 1st pic are the fakes (he has no internet so can't send pics), can anyone confirm this by posting a pic of their known genuine items for referance.

Would be very helpfull if you could post a pic of each item (winders, door pulls although I'm sure the 2nd ones are genuine and grab handles).

Most claim them to be original because they have the correct enamel logo's but these are easily obtainable via ebay.

Both of these are "engraved" so to speak but one looks as though it has an adonised finish and the signatures differ in position, screws differ etc.

I think the bottom ones look the real mcoys - the top seem too rounded and the writing IMO looks like its a sticker of some sort.

The angle of the kinks seem different too.

Right; Firstly, The second photo is of Ebay items that I have for sale and I'm SERIOUSLY F____D OFF that you have helped yourself to my picture and posted it on here!

Way to rub people up the wrong way............ ask your questions of the vendor via the correct (ebay) forum and you will get a lot further with your 'concerns'; you weren't afraid to ask for a ''Buy Now'' price for the set!

Who cares? If you're putting John Cooper Cooper door handles on a car that isn't a Cooper then what does it matter if they arn't geniune?

But think of the respect you're going to get for those door handles! It is well known that buying stuff off Ebay with "John Cooper Works BMC Speedwell Downton Rally NOS" in the title will add both value and performance to your car. In fact, you'll be beating them off with a poo-ey stick.

Bit of an exageration here dont you think. He wanted to confirm with the mini experts on here weather he was buying real levers or fake levers, you do not need to get all defensive.....if you search the forums you will find plenty of similar posts like this. instead of getting defensive you could have said that they are yours and you guarentee that they are genuine. If i were purchasing these i probably would have done the same thing and ask the "experts" first

The vendor's attitude suggests they're not to me... he seems to have a big problem with someone questioning it's origins :S

The sudden silence makes me think fake, although between the two the bottom photo look real but i didnt even think that cooper conversions had these handles. My genuine cooper does not have these alloy handles but hey, what do i care? £150 is very steep for replica handles as opposed to genuine.
