I think the top ones are real. (Have no idea)

What do I win if I'm right?

:D Nowt lol, just stops idiots like myself nearly forking out £150 for a complete set of fakes :w00t:

Right; Firstly, The second photo is of Ebay items that I have for sale and I'm SERIOUSLY F____D OFF that you have helped yourself to my picture and posted it on here!

Way to rub people up the wrong way............ ask your questions of the vendor via the correct (ebay) forum and you will get a lot further with your 'concerns'; you weren't afraid to ask for a ''Buy Now'' price for the set!

keep your hair on..
I think you have just proved exactly how genuine these aren't!

Whats the point in him asking you if they're genuine? Wheres that going to get him - Your going to say yes regardless if your trying to pass them off as the real deal.

Don't get so arsey, you've just made yourself look like a tool. If you don't want him to use your image - PM him politely.

Cheers for all of the abuse and insults, lesson learnt... dare to object to something and you leave yourself open to slaughter by a few big men hiding behind computers. Bit of advice boys; try to be grown up and make a point without resorting to abuse. All very brave hiding away behind your screens aren't we ?

My "silence" is due to having a few other things to do in a day rather than my alleged dishonesty. My original objection to the way this chap has gone about his business stands, i couldn't care less how many times 'this sort of thing has happened before' on this site, that doesn't make it right regardless of how many of you stick your 2 pennies worth in.
A url link to eBay auctions is acceptable, copying and pasting pictures from an auction is probably illegal.

I deliberately did not offer comment on the originality of the item in question because I object to this thread and as such I ain't playing the game. The auctions are legitimate and truthful and the word 'genuine' is used in the description.
I really would be a 'Tool' and an 'arse' if I falsely advertised something on eBay and then admitted it on here wouldn't I boys? (rhetorical question).
I have already sent Mr Miglia a pm and suggested the way to get an answer to concerns about an auction in the first instance is to ask the question of the vendor... that's what the service is designed for... not rocket science is it! He did ask a question but it was 'what's the buy now '!
The truth is he would have got a lot further that way than coming on here and asking you experts.

I'm bored now, bring on the next round of insults, I've given you plenty to work with.

I'm interested to know why everyone thinks they know that these are fakes when all they've seen is an eBay photo ...

Yet no-one's prepared to take the word of the seller - The only person here to have actually held the real items!

I'm fed up of people looking for an argument on here.

If he says they're genuine, that I believe they're genuine. All the comments about how "having an attitude proves they're fake" - What a load of rubbish! I'd have an attitude if you accused me of selling cheap imitations, when I know that they're genuine!

Your incredibly defensive for someone who says they are genuine? Im not saying they are fake and im not commenting on it but I cant see what is wrong with asking a Mini communities opinion on the matter? Its pretty much what the forum is for. Advice and help on all things Mini related.

The point is the OP didn't accuse anyone of anything, simply put pictures up of 2 random pairs off ebay, to see if anybody could tell if they're real or fake.

The pictures have no link to anybodys ebay listings and that way anybodys opinion of whether or not they're real, doesn't effect the outcome of the auction - Thats the way it should be.

Then the seller comes in and throws his toys out of his pram shouting and swearing over nothing.

Surely you'd be more annoyed if he'd linked to your items and claimed they were fakes.

Hey guys, lay off!
I have personally bought and sold stuff with this guy over several years, and he's always been a top guy, a genuine enthusiast selling good stuff!

I know you can't always trust ebay, and the adage 'caveat emptor' has never been more apt. But slagging someone off when you don't even care for the auction is not helping anyone...

Maybe the first reply was a little OTT, but at the same time, if your photo was on eBay and then posted on here, people are going to connect the 2 - If people decided wrongly that they're fake (through no means, other than looking at a small photo) - It's going to cost him a sale! As he says, why not just contact the seller and ask him if they're genuine. If you receive them and they aren't, then you lodge a complaint with Paypal - It's simple... and unfortunately the risk of eBay. If you're that bothered, go and take a look at them first.

What I, personally, object to - Is these comments :

The vendor's attitude suggests they're not to me... he seems to have a big problem with someone questioning it's origins :S

The sudden silence makes me think fake

the seller seems to have something to hide, obviously doesnt want to be "outted"

What kind of strange reality to you live in!?

How do you know whether these are genuine or not, from looking at a small photo!? And what gives you the authority to make such accusations!?
