How do you remove the lower arm pin from the subframe?
un do the big nut at the rear of the stubby that holds it in then slide it out to the front. Seems symple
But if the bushes have the metal incerts and havent been greased this may be needed.
Hammer? or pry bar and hammer. Or hit with a punch on the larger round curicle end to the front of the subframe.

I left the nut on and hit it with a hammer, one came out with one strike the other one took a few.I can now get the subframe powder coated (for free, woot).
Ive started stripping the engine bay to down to,it started really well and then the paint didn't seem to be coming off as easy so i put the drill in reverse and it was fine. That's one advantage over an angle grinder but one major disadvantage is the fact the battery last's less than ten minute's.

I actually got it all stripped and etch primed but we moved house shortly after so things ground to a halt and it sat in the new garage untouched til now.
I got the garage painted, bought a sander and got cracking :)
engine bay is now stripped (for the seond time) and filled, just need to finish sanding a few little bits and its ready for the etch primer.

And brandon lending a hand

Should have more pics tomorrow :)

Got the etch primer on but some places will need touching up and i have a few runs, and even tho i hoovered the whole mini some grit still managed to get on the paint

What do you think i should do about the thin bits under the scuttle? I cant get my gun at the right angle,i have a spray can of zinc primer i could use?

Done one side of the sound deadening, the blue in the corner is the blue thats going on the car :)

Should have more pics tomorrow with the high build primer on :)

Well after being pretty much ready to paint the car I decided to have a go at some of the wax oil under the wheel arch and found some dodgy patchs so I cut a hole in the sill and it was like a patchwork quilt.
We moved house and the mini has just been sat there waiting for me to get a welder which I now have :)
Made quit a few mistakes but my welds are getting better and I'm the first to admit its not the neatest but I don't think it's too bad

I've got a full inner/outer sill assembly but will need a full inner wing assembly and more than likely some door stiffener panels too.And of course some wings but I might go fiberglass...hmmm
