What size is the bore of this block.... ?

Er roller tips ?? you have to be kidding, they are standard sintered off any later Mini from the early 80's onwards worth about £2.50 at a push

The gap between no 2 & 3 pistons looks really tight :D can you measure it ?

Also a1380 running off the standard mechanical pump woul dnot be a very good 1380  just can't supply enough fuel.

Wouldn't the "STD" on the piston top mean standrad bore ( 1275 )

As above, measure the bore diameter. If its 73.5mm then yes its a 1380. As Martin says the gap between bores 2 and 3 does look tight so it may well be. Also why the pic of the standard rockers? Did you post the wrong IMG code?

As Martin says, the wall thickness remaining between cylinders 2 & 3 looks very thin. It may be that it's been bored out to 1380 without the bore centres being offset to cater for the much larger bores. In which case you could have head gasket issues and the block can never be bored any further should it need to be later on.

Is it just the pic, or does the gap between 1 and 2 look way smaller than between 3 and 4?

Those are not roller tips, they are standard late A-series rockers.

Indeed! Roller tip rockers have....ER...rollers at the tips that press onto the valve stem.

You are doing the correct thing by stripping and checking your E-bay purchase, You just never know these days. Mini engines are becoming more and more expensive and some people are trying to cash in by selling some very dodgy stuff! Not saying you have a bad one but its as well to check!!

Also going from the alternator bracket in the first pick, its an early a series engine. Plus that’s also a early 1275 head with later a+ rockers.

My guess is its an a series, standard 1275, not a metro 1275 with no special extras.
