It's immaculate in everyway and its just eating away at my wallet because I can't help but spend money on it. I've spent way too much so far and I've not even started the gearbox conversion yet.
Predictable... but after my 5th southern Mini Days this weekend I kinda just realized no matter what happens, my passion is Minis, and I need one in my life.
I'm after a project that I can learn to weld on with help from Alex who's said I can take it to his unit and he'll teach me the basics and help me get a Mini shell solid to play around with.
Modifying a GSi is kind of stupid, especially an immaculate one like this. After fitting the bucket seats I just looked at the originals in my room and thought what the hell? They ended up back in the car... you never see a Metro around nowadays, especially one that's been looked after as well as this has. Modifying it just seems kind of stupid... especially when my whole life I've dreamed about Minis, and after my plans for wheels etc, i could have had a decent solid shell to start off with.
Slamming it is all very well and will look awesome, but individulizing and things like that just limits the market if I do ever want to sell her on.
I think I'll definitely keep it and just use it as my daily drive, keep it an auto and just enjoy it, because its an awesome car without being slammed to the ground. In the meantime I can build a nice little Mini that I can use on weekends and enjoy working on, but still know I can get to work the following day.

I do hate Minis Dan, and Minis are crap... it's a known fact mate, but I love them and I'm gonna make my passion a reality and build one.
Anybody that's into Minis knows they're crap. They were built to be disposable and not built to last. The sooner you realize Minis ARE crap the easier it becomes to actually own, restore, and love one I think. One day I'll do it... and hopefully it'll be soon
I have a Mini tattoo on my arm Dan.. you've seen it and laughed at me for being a fool, but it's my true passion... and no matter what happens I love Minis, and always will
