So you're trying to tell me the Mini is a decent car? Powered by its 63 year old engine? It's crap buddy, but we love it and we make it work.

Is the bromance coming to an end? if this project kept as it was I was gonna ask when your changing your name to Mini-Metro-Craig? Never understood why you got the metro but I can see why

You want a metro craig you get one, you want a mini then get that, you don't need to justify to anyone on here what you want or why based on what you've posted in this build diary, this is just a diary of updates........

But if you get a saxo-fiesta or worse then your on your own :-

 I'd never swoop that low Kam!! but I always really liked Metros and it's a decent looking sort of reliable car. :-

And like you say, I'm my own person, I'll get a Mini soon enough and build it up and it'll be completely awesome (to me), but I love my Metro all the same. Great little car, and I'm really enjoying owning/working on it.

I would have another mini in a heartbeat but I can't so I'm stuck in that hard place between wanting a car to enjoy on both the road and track, at least your able to, most here can't or are able to work on there own cars like they would like to so enjoy yours like you are :-

If you change your mind who cares? work with what works best at the time? its not like you've taken out a contract on here

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean mate. My true passion has always been motorsports, and the Metro is a great way to go pretty quick for cheap money. Im in two minds also. I love the Metro scene, it's a great place to be, and I do love Metros, but my heart is just with Mini and always will be. I think I feel kinda guilty almost, spending money on my Metro when I think, wow, that money could have been this or that on a Mini etc. It's just Minis are so expensive for what you get, but I'm determined to make it happen. :( I have a lot going on outside of my hobbies that sometimes make it difficult to do certain stuff, but I think once I set my heart truely on something I like to think I can acheive it... maybe I can prove it to myself with the Mini. :)

Latest edition is a small but awesome update for me. My great dutch friend Erik, (Bartje on TMF) brought me back a chrome lizard from Holland in his box of goodies that he builds up for me over the months and then presents to me at certain points throughout the year.

It's a little symbol to represent my awesome Bearded Dragon, Iggy, and an awesome reminder to me of the friends I have through the Mini scene. :) It sits proudly on the left hand side of my bootlid.

No pictures but heres my little dude :) Pictures tommorow

What the hell is it with you and all these animals? I would've thought after your fish tank broke and ripped through the downstairs floor making you very popular with your household you might have calmed it down a bit, but no

I like pets mate but c'mon there must be a limit unless you own a zoo! :-

maybe "its time for you to live in the shed as the rabbits need a new bigger room?"

Slightly digressing from the actual topic here :-

So are you putting this GSi back to how it was?

! Worst part is, when my brother moved out, my mum was actually going to use the converted garage for the rabbits rather than let me have it so I can blast out the Hendrix as loud as I like without bothering anybody!! O.0

And the GSi is staying as it is at the moment. :- Pretty happy with the reversible changes I've made, and I've kept everything that I've removed incase any new owner might want to change it back. Not that I have plans to sell it. :-

Mate I'm on about 40 odd pages I think and 39 are just me waffling, no pets needed here :(

Yeah good move on keeping the changes stored somewhere incase it needs to go back to how it was, very easy for people to sell bits off as they go

 Easy threadage mate!!

Well to sum up then. She's finished!... not what some people wanted to hear after my plans of slamming on superlites but I think its too much of a fine example of Metro to 'ruin' like that. Gonna try and keep it forever, after the cheap price that I payed and being my first car, I really do love it to bits. I'll work on finding a nice Mini and learn to weld on that, and then hopefully she'll keep me getting around whilst I build that and then once its done I can retire her behind the caravan and return her to the road, by which time she should hopefully be a fully blown classic!!

Today I went on a trip with a few dutch friends before they went home on the Ferry from SMD. Heres a few pics from our lovely day out... Erik also picked up a few bits from Minispares that he had been meaning to get at SMD but the traders were a huge let down
