Was driving to Essex today... she was fine on the way down there... on the way back she was fine until half way home... we see a Mini and I explained to my dad that it was a tragic moment that I do want a Mini so much... I did add 'I love my tro' at the end though. Then a mile down the road, straight into the red. :P damn. She's so insecure :P

Going to be buying my new brakes on Friday. MGF calipers and I will be running Metro GTi (MGF) Vented and grooved discs. Finished off with some Mintex 1166 pads. Not cheap at all... but necessary. I'll also need 5mm front spacers to clear the wheels.

at least youll never overheat them brakes though dude. i soo want to uprage the 25 to vented discs, but regulations say no, i only have standard pads at the moment, which i can cook really easily.

im going to try some mintex m1177 (i think thats the ones cooperman told me to try) and see how i get on with them, standard pads are so frustrating, i normally have to slow right down and allow the brakes to cool when im on the 'lanes, which obviously isnt any good if im on a rally trying to reach a checkpoint on time.

whens a manual 'box and 16v head going in dude?

m77's are pretty good from what i've heard.

I'm going to pass my test first man. Need to afford the 2 and a half insurance as an 8v before i can afford to insure it as a 16v. I'll be buying the Engine before christmas and working on it in the garage though. Just gonna pile all my money into it so that when I can finally get it in the car next year I can really enjoy it

It's quick enough as an 8v for me at the moment to be honest. I've put my foot down a few times and it's got a lot to give considering, especially being an auto. It'll be staying an auto until i go 16v anyway. Changing it and putting another signle cam seems pretty pointless

...unless I fit the 16v head and see how much power you can get from a CVT box before it go's pop :P

I liked that just because I enjoyed the irony of it :P

More rust proofing/undersealing. Wire brushed all of the crap off and primed, painted and then hammerited a few lovely coats of rust prevention... you can never rust proof too much with a classic car!!
