m77's are pretty good from what i've heard.

I'm going to pass my test first man. Need to afford the 2 and a half insurance as an 8v before i can afford to insure it as a 16v. I'll be buying the Engine before christmas and working on it in the garage though. Just gonna pile all my money into it so that when I can finally get it in the car next year I can really enjoy it

It's quick enough as an 8v for me at the moment to be honest. I've put my foot down a few times and it's got a lot to give considering, especially being an auto. It'll be staying an auto until i go 16v anyway. Changing it and putting another signle cam seems pretty pointless

...unless I fit the 16v head and see how much power you can get from a CVT box before it go's pop :P

Don't do that. The r65u gearbox and engine for a gti are great! It Is a close ratio box with nice short gearing and with the 100bhp 16v lump it is great fun. I had a 143bhp vvc engine on an r65u gti gearbox and it was one of the most fun cars I ever owned.

That's the plan buddy. The CVT is strange at best even with 8v power... let alone 16v!! Do you recommend the R65u box over the Pg1 then? The PG1, especially with LSD seems to be the most common choice among Metro owners.

Greg, If you want to deliver it for an extra tenner then call it a deal, i can't afford to insure it at the moment and my dads working too much to be able to make the trip. PM me if you want.

yeppedys. 1.1 is 2.2k to insure to a lot better... going to find a tatty 3 door that i wont get attached to and run that around to build up my no claims... it'll receive a 1.4 8v (they look the same...) and strip it out to use as a track car whilst getting my no claims down. http://www.theminifo..._DIR#/smile.png And then once I can afford to insure the Gsi, the '1.1' will be VVC'd and used purely for tracks, with a full cage and slicks etc.

If your working for a successful team, with competitive cars and drivers, and are handy in the paddocks you'll gain respect, but dude, don't let them take the pee out of you and use you. This year was the first year I've been to all the mg midget challenge races, we had a very successful season, with first in class and 2nd overall, and i got to know a few of the drivers, I also learnt a fair amount of stuff and gained a few useful contacts. You'll also see the corruption that goes on in motorsport.

Hi, sorry i never saw this. Drop me a PM with your postcode and we will sort something out. Also don't suppose you are wanting some GTI seats? In the rarer silverstone pattern as well not lightning. Wanting £60 for these but don't have the door cards :(

I will take the seats too mate. I was going to get some from Sean on MetroPower but you're a lot more local. How much do you want for the carpet and seats together delivered?

Does this include the rear seats too by the way?

Yeah they are in good condition (no rips, stains ect) Could do with a hoover though, same as the carpet. Yes it's the front & rear seats. Erm say £85 delivered for the lot? I can come tonight if you really like?
