Additional to the personnal message. In an attempt to identify which panel is at fault. Could you borrow/beg another bonnet & offer it up. Both to the car & maybe back to back with your heritage one to see if the curves match at all? Or at least get some measurements. Rear edge to front edge, centre & middle. The front panel caused me the most problems as it pushed the passenger wing of so it didn't line up with inner wing & scuttle as well.

Thankyou shifty and sonikk for your thoughts and photos they have helped me alot I have now been back to the bodyshop with your findings and it now looks like a dodgy slam panel/ frontpanel they are going to cut the stiffener out and see if they can raise it to where it should be bit of a ballache to do as it is all welded in and can't be sent back to minispares under complaint. Also what dosnt help is the new chrome moustache also purchased from minispares is the wrong shape also and poor quality with ripples in the finish after there ADD said that this one was the right shape and improved over the standard one I just don't know what to believe now

Glad to be of help and I have heard of people cutting the stiffener and then re-shaping the slam panel to get the best fit before now.

Hi again Jagman it's proving very difficult to get hold of an additional mk1 bonnet to try that but thanks for suggestion anyway. I have had another look at the panels and it appears to be the heritage frontpanel curve that is wrong so we are hoping to sort that. What make of front panel did you use?

I'll speak to Heritage on Monday, and ask that they check their presses. I'd also be intersted to see that Moustache, as I haven't seen a bad one in a VERY long time

Hi Simon thanks for your reply if you could speak to them it would help I tHink also I will ask the bodyshop to take a photo of the moustach and email me but I can honestly say it's a bad fit when offering it up to the slam panel and rippled they have said they are going to send it back for a replacement

That looks identical to the gap that i had on Project Erm. Even cutting that vertical strap on the front panel won't close that up without a lot of work.

Bloody chavs should be caged and fed to wild animals.

My gap on the bonnet, it tapers right to left

I also had to add metal strips to the side as well but that was more to do with me not being ruthless enough with the wing fitting. Still a lesson learnt there.

You can see in the last picture on the right hand side of the panel i tried to section the panel to lift it up but that just opened another can of worms which i really did not want to have to overcome. So i welded it back in its original position.
