ive now welded in the other big hole that you can see, so i just need to grind all the welds back and thats that bit done.

theres a nasty whole at the end of the cross member to sort now.

i have got tommorow of work so i want to get the rest of the drivers inner sill welded up, the foot well is quite bad though, so i am going to have to carefully cut all the rust out and remake it all.

i also need to prep the rest of the door step seam some of the old sill need to be removed from that!

still got a whole day on it! :-

finally got round to tacking a few pictures! first off is some pictures of the work i have been doing on the inner sills, the drivers side is now rust free. i just need to make up some more repair plates weld these in then grind back all the welds. that will then be ready for the outer sill. this should be done in the next week!

i have also now fitted the brace bars on the front subframe. i came across a problem though when i fitted my lowered damper mounts ( you got any of these yet dog? keep up :proud: you know i will be lower! ) any way. i will not be able to take the dampers off the usual way because there too close so i will have to take the whole bracket off!

there is a bit more cut out now than in the photos, i have also had to cut the bottom inch or so on the inner wing, still at least i know there is no rusty metal hidding away!

Who's alloy calipers are those (paart from yours!)?

As for the shocks, I believe if you remove the pin from the bottom arm and turn it round so it points backwards and then swap the upper mounts side to side you should be able to mount the shocks behind the brackets/arms. Think this is how the Fiesta brake mod boys get round clearance problems.

Still won't get you really low though, for that it takes a little more engineering:

With the changes that have been made there, not all obvious, I can wind the suspension down until the sump touches the floor! Its normal running height is with the sump 1.5" from the floor, at which point I can't drive the car into the garage as there is a 2" step it can't get up without grounding.
