there been slow progress recently what with one thing and another, i have been doing bits on my other mini and its too hot to wear overall and weld!

i have now cut the rear seat pan and pockets out, it looks quite neat and i just need to finish tidying it up. i have also stated rubbing bits down in preperation for the respray, as i go i have been removing all rust, welding up unused holes the rubbing down and priming panels. i looks a lot tidyer where i have done this and i know that i have finished it when its grey!

i have sent my cheaque to smudger for a battery box so should get that soon and my carbon bumpers should be with me in a while also.

i have also spoke to mlmotorsport on saturday and he said that mike barnaby of MB wheels said they should be ready in 7-10 days so we shall see! :-

i am using a differnet computer so i cant put any pictures up at the moments, and i am going on holiday to kavos next week so not much will be done for a while. :)

i forgot i also spent saturday moring at work with my friend ant and we made a program on the mill to turn down 8.4" disc to 7.5" and also groove them 0.6mm deep and 2mm wide 12 time on each face.

they look awsome and i have pictures showing how they were done, and the finished disc along with callipers, there gonna look lush behind my wheels!

cheers

i have now also decided that i will be making the front of the car removeable, i will still be using the steel panels though.

it wont be a flip front as i can see the point, they must get in the way when working. instead i will use stainless counter sink bolts on the wings and hidden fastners else where to keep things in line.

i will get the brace bars when i get back from my holiday.

Hey!

Ive done the same on my project!, fitting a removable steel front!

Im doing mine so you can take the bonet off seperate too! using pins at the back, and springs at the two front corners (H) :(

i think flip fronts are just for show :ermm: they must get in the way more than the bonet does!

Dave :P

yeah too right,

i have been watching your project and like what you are doing, well will have to see whos is lower too. :w00t:

i went up to mini spares in RAF my other mini! trust me thats an achievment! :w00t: any way a bought a set of brace bars for the front end and also some radius arm rebuild kits! just need another couple of poly mounts, wheel cylinders and a handbrake cable to finish the list for the rear subby(and the frame itself!)

i have now also cut the inner wings of the front of the car in preperation for the bars, again i just need the sub frame so i can line these up.

once i have this done i will be sending the roll cage, sub frames, brace bars and towing eye to be powder coated bright orange, sounds a bit mad but i think it should work with the black body work!

I'm making my own brace bars.
With my projest, I am on a budget, as I want to spend as much as I can on my engine.

So welding, spraying, engine building, etc, is all being done by myself :w00t:

And Mowog.... You won't get it any lower than me :w00t:

cheers jack

i couldnt belive all the rust on your car dog i would have been gutted.

i think i will be dam low but havent tubbed my rear arches, yet :w00t: so you may get lower than me, but i will still have less weight to drag about because i am getting more carbon. so should be faster :w00t:
