i will try and sort the link out so it works.
i was gonna do that like you said before puddings but when i emailed the company i have got my wheels from he said not to do this.
i think it is to do with the rim bolts and as i all ready have a safety worry with so few bolts i dont really want to mess about with them, he also said i wont need inner tubes with the wheels.
cars sounds cool dayoungfella you will get there in the end, mine will be my every day car too when its finished, cant afford to run 2 cars and my dad wont let me have 2 on the drive! the blue turbo at the start of this thread is also the guys everyday car what a nutter!

Im beginning to get sick of using mine everyday....roads are pretty crappy where I live and I can never fit my friends in the back! I suppose that's the price you pay for the fun you have when driving Minis though...
Here's the link to my Mini's thread..

i will then start stripping the car of all its parts to leave a rolling shell. i will then be doing a few mods to the shell and prepping the inside for paint.
i have just spent £50 quid on paint. i ordered POR-15 which i have been told is very good, i also got some chassis black spray and some MOWOG green engine paint.
i will also be taking another trip up to mini spares in the next couple of weeks to order a load more stuff, the parts i am getting should mean that apart from the body work i will have all the parts for the rebuild.
these parts will include:
alloy hanbrake quadrants
rear fixed anti roll bar
more braided hoses
and other bits and pieces
i am still holding on for a while but i am sure i will be placing an order with curley for the carbon roof, carbon bonnet and miglia arches, thinking about it i need to get some silkaflex for the roof, and order some fastners from demon tweeks!
so still loads more money to spend i think i am about £1000 over buget and i havent even calculated the cost of the engine rebuild, i cant belive how much i have spent i just hope the end result justifies it!

carbon fiber roof skin showing weave
carbon bonnet (mk3)
carbon miglia arches
the bonnet and arches are in gel coat for 2 reasons. because i dont want to overload it with the carbon so it looks tacky and basically i could not afford them.

the mini center in heybridge is where i got the car from! get difficult work that i cant do myself done down there too!
i kind of got a bit carried away this morning and have gone and bought a mig welder from machine mart. this means that i can do some of the small bits of welding myself and will hopefully save the money i paid for the welder by not having to spend out on labour!

having just had a look on the mini films website i have decided that i will wait till the end of march till the dvd comes out on how to build a 1380. the dvd look excellent and the engine spec should produce 100bhp and 100lb/ft of torque this should be more that enough for my needs.
i cant find out how to post a link on this new site but will add one when i find out how!
i have just gone and bought a valve spring compressor so i have stripped the head fully now.
ok i worked it out now. have a look there is a 7 min long preview of the dvd.
mini films 1380
Ahh i am going to get that DVD aswell, something might actually sink in!

i got my paint through from frost today, and my cheque has now cleared to curley. i am getting desperate now because i really want to see my wheels that i ordered.
i am nearly there on the parts front, seems like i have brought everything in the mini spares catalouge now, still have to make one more trip there though but will go next week end.
i have also ordered and new carbon richbrook tax disc holder and push button start too, should be getting them tomorrow.
parts that i still need to get are:
steering wheel
boss
rear arch covers
stainless bolts
all engine parts
all panels
i feel i am getting there though!
this is what i will be driving for the next 6 months, will do a few bits to it and then sell it on, already put in a 1.6 Si interior and will be getting a standard spoiler and late mk3 wing mirrors and a set of wheels.

the parts i got this time include:
rear anti roll bar
rear adjustable camber brackets
new rubber seals
center oil pick up pipe
braided oil transfere pipe
braided servo and clutch hoses
magnetic oil filters
and other bits i cant think of.
i have started writing up the spec and it is looking very impressive.
i have been driving the car around with no interior at the moment because i got bored at the weekend and started to stip it down, another thing that i have realised is that i am going to have loads of stuff to sell as i replace it with newer stuff so if there is anything you like on the current car give me a shout as i may be selling.

i would put up picture but am having problems at the mo >
so next week end the engine will be coming out then i can finish stripping the shell and get welding.
i also think i am going to have the car shot blasted as there are loads of bits of rust in places i cant get to treat it afectivley.
i have been told that my wheels should be ready in april now which is a bit boring and i have had no word from curley about my carbon bits but they have cashed the cheque!
