You may have planned where your tools are going, but you know they will end up on the floor
so so true.
i have just measured up the back garden and i recon i can squeze a 12x10ft shed in there! gives about 3ft either side without wheel arches. should be plenty of room.
its going to take some convincing though, my dad only wants it to be 12x8.

i have cut the main bit in as you see, just need to fiddle about with it a bit more and then i will fire over the measurements and some good pictures for you.
if i get a chance i will be making the template for the upper bit as well!
oh and if you ever need a hand with the 'tro give us a shout.

No worries, that seller is a regular on turbo minis, seems a good bloke, just roun the corner to us to,
Another thing i just thought of, well a couple actally,
how about drilling some holes so you can get a socket through to undo the tricky wok bolts (like in the pic), and trimming the driveshaft joint holes so a built up inner pot joint fits through. Plus remeber so seam weld it, especially the tower tops.
I keep coming back to this thread, its really interesting me....
One quick tip, rather than drilling holes to get to the tricky wok bolts, just leave those 2 out, after all you have the weight of the engine pushing it against the subframe so its never going to come loose.
I learnt that one pretty quickly as its a right pain getting them out, after the 1st engine removal I left them out since then with no probs.

these are the sort of things im sure will come to me with a highly tuned mini. but its always good to get a heads up before i start!

i might finish off the subframe one eveining this week if i get a chance, sort of job i can get stuck into while my dads car isnt in the garage.
Ive got the metal plate to triangulate the towers with so i just need to drill it and weld it on again. then i will get the grinder on the drive shaft holes as mini13 sugested, and then i can get it out the way!

I've been having a bit of a clearout, as I don't have a mig anymore I have a fullish reel of mig wire gathering dust, it has your name on it...
also, I bought some stainless 2.5" tube (1.5m i think) and a couple of 90deg stainless bends, as there's no way they are going to fit between my Mk1 tunnel and sumpguard i'll let them go cheap if your interested, probably a bit big for an NA engine though....

AW.....bring your template, I'll start working on it. If you want some seam welding done, I can do it at work mate. Might as well use the firms gas & wire. No charge! buy me a few cans of boddingtons!
