when you know something needs replacing, but know if you replace that the car will more then likely find something else to break as it doesnt like change!
Like my car, i replaced the locks for electric ones and the battery died and some electrics went because of it! all fixed now, but not looking forward to changing the fan belt as i feel it will mean a new alternator haha

loving this thread, pretty much spot on so far but got a few to add:
You Know Your A Mini owner When...
you think a 1.4 is a big engine...
you spend more time underneath you car than driving it...
if faced with a problem on a modern car you use a mini as an example and say something like: on a mini you just change/adjust this but you cant on a modern car with all the electronics etc...
you still have to explain to people that the bmw mini is'nt a mini...
you think its unfair that so many unloved and forgoten cars have been made since that never rusted...
you can laugh at the price's for aftermarket stuff for modern cars...
you have to explain that your car is'nt tax exempt but should be....
you can spot a mini shape under a tarporlane from half a mile away!...

you always have the haynes manual close, and even look at the pictures when its too late and dark to see your own mini

always take the alternative B road route
class other drivers abilities as "i would/wouldnt trust them with a mini"
cant park a car in tesco with out coming out of tesco to find some guy checking out your car
cant leave your car in town without a friend saying they saw somebody looking underneath it and you just say "prob seeing how iv done something, i do that occasionally, nothing to worry about"

I do it too. Do people do it because they want to make sure it hasn't set on fire, or are they just admiring the beauty? In my case, it's both

PMSLeventually you stop reaching for 5th gear
Do you ever stop going for 5th on occasions!!!!!!!!
Im the other way round, always keep my Lupo in 4th!
You know you're a Mini owner when you car has its own designated room/area of the house in which you keep parts you have taken off it!!
