as others have said they are jumping on a bandwagon, and just being criminals.
if its got to birmingham i cant see other major cities staying trouble free.
well if you lose your job and can't afford to pay your bill have to sell every thing you worked so hard to get then maybe you might sypathis with there stress levels and i don't condone the looting but i do believe this is a reacting to the the sistuation these people find them self in, happy people don't react this way.
everyone is in the same boat.REALYthese riots will have absolutely nothing to do with the countries economic state.
its just mindless theft. doesnt help one bit that its the school holidays.
look at history everytime the ecconamy takes a beating and the poorest suffer this is how they react itshappen through out history, its totally to do with the ecconamy.
im from one of thepoorerpoorist suburbs of birmingham (handsworth if you wish to google it), im not out on the street breaking into not only shops, but peoples houses.
i work and pay for everything, people have to help themselves, and i dont mean the the contents of shops illegally.
maybe initially it was politically motivated but certainly not now in anyway.

I was under the impression the guy shot was carrying a gun. If I was carrying a gun, I would probably expect the police to shoot me. I don't think it's ok to carry one in the UK yet is it?lets hope they mistake you for "someone who had it coming to him" or some one you care about, he was a suspect he was not found guilty of any thing and wegave up the barbarek death penalty year ago, the police had no right to shoot that man the same as the looter have no right to do what they are
Even though you maybe in one of the poorest suburbs of birmingham - It's that bad there just yet. I can see the smoke from my house, there is no plus side to this at all.
End of the day, it was to do with the policeman killing , the policeman had every right to kill him.

The bullet found in the police officers radio was a police issue bullet.

the worse thing about all this is the amount of rasism i have heard from people today about it, it makes me sad. any i am out of hear as i getthe feeling some people on hear might think the same and i have no time ignorant people, im so glad im leaving the forum.
Who was being ignorant. All I really see is people voicing their opinion as much as you have.
Debate on an issue like this is inevitable as is a difference of opinions, both of which are healthy.
The guy was, allegedly, carrying a firearm. A copper was shot, saved by his radio. Somewhere in there something isn't right.
It was a planned operation and 3 rounds have been discharged, why was he carrying a firearm. Clearly not by accident.
Now what happened waaaaaaay back on Thursday has been used as an excuse to cause mindless destruction, oh and not forgetting to "claim back taxes", good one!

Can we please leave the aggravation on the streets, everyone is entitled to their say, you can have a go at the opinions if you disagree , but not the person who expressed them - please.

Yes, that point is "unclear". Apparently he safely put his firearm away into his sock. His Fiancee is quoted as say "he has only been in prison once". I don't know why the police were even interested in him really.Scotty you are wrong...
