Thanks for the comment :)

Nicholas has been a bit neglected recently while i've been trying to get another mini through it's MOT. So today i gave him a clean down for the first time in way too long!

Hmmm bit of a weird update, you see those pics i took up there from yesterday ^^

Well this is how i found nicholas this morning...

I don't know if someone has moved it as a joke or has attempted to nick it, either way i'm ab bit annoyed and it is now securely tucked away in the garage.

Anyway onto that suprise............ :)

Really pleased with it. Fitted....

The leather feels lovely, and i love the look of it, feels a bit odd atm though, think it might be cause my old wheel was off line so got used to holding it on one side a bit lower. Might move my steering column down a wee bit :)

Haha i do seem to think it is someone pratting about :shades:

Took this shot from inside the garage the other day and love it :)

Today i had a bit of free time so set about just going over the car and making sure things were in order.

I greased all the usual places but one nipple didn't want to play ball, not sure what im going to do about that :/
Posted Image

Finally got round to fitting my lower engine steadies, well one of them, the other seems to have the wrong steady bar for that side, shame :(
Posted Image

Fitted a nice new smooth throttle cable too, it's lovely :D

Also gave it a clean and hoover as well as topping up the oil and the like.
Nice and clean...

Peace out

Well I'm trying to save money for another mini to restore so nothing majour.

However it has started backfiring occasionally so will have to get that sorted and it's made a few noises this morning like a bearing is given up :( oh the joys of mini ownership :P

I'm not sure how but yet again on the same side the wheel bearing has had it, such a pain, i'm starting to think the hub or cv could be worn causing the bearings to be worn so quickly.

Well with mine the normal standard top engine steady bracket is damaged as the weld has broken so i put in the dsn pimp top steady and the bottom really helped a lot too :)

Hey dude. Just read your whole topic Duncy. Thats one fine looking motor, you should be very proud. !
Reminds me of my red city that I had (Chester). Same colour scheme, same wheels, same arches. A dead ringer :)

This car did get me into trouble with the plod though :( Apparently that wheel and arch combination is illegal! And officer Dibble got his measuring stick out to prove it. So for 4 years I had a horrible CU20 on my licence :(

I don't know of anyone else with the same wheel/arch combination that this has happened to though, so I wouldn't worry.

Nice car!

Al

Thanks for the comments :) I think i should be alrite with the arches, I know an ex bobby and he thinks they are ok :)

Well seeing as the wheel bearing woes returned i bit the bullet and just bought loads of new bits....
Posted Image

So i got it all fitted today and no more play :D

This is a comparison of the cvs

You can kind of make out the marks around the bearing face.

And a picture of the hub taking shape :)

Will probably fit the new drum shoes tomorrow and hopefully with have a handbrake again :P
