You're missing the point;
My problem is with being told im not allowed on the club stand, not the lack of technical advice.

If i am a part of a forum/ club that welcomes all people with a passion for the Mini/MINI, and i own a MINI, and want to bring it to a show that is a Mini/ MINI show, then why can i not put it on the club stand? That is the question at hand, and you do not seem to know the answer.

Because we're a classic mini based forum, arguing isn't going to change that, read the rules and replies if you don't understand, you've already said you won't bring either car so why carry on arguing, it won't change things. If you don't get the point then we can only write the same thing so many times, we can't help you beyond that. Maybe MINI2 has a stand you can take it on, like on the forum we're tolerant of BMW minis, will say hello but we will point you in the right direction as we're a classic mini forum. As we take the time to organise and run the stands we want ones that reflect what TMF is about, if you have a problem with that please find another club stand that's happy to take you on board.

As far as I'm aware Sam14 there's no camping, always pop by and say hi, get a free sticker too! I'll try and remember my name badge if that helps :)

Sam, theres no need to hump the cars, we don't bite!!

Come and say hi, 8ec will(probably) be in an outfit you can't miss and i'll be the short bloke under the bonnet of other people cars!!

We've been through the whole Bini thing a thousand times already, its the general view of the forum that we are tolerent but are based around the classic mini. For us to all of a sudden have Binis on the club stands will send out mixed messages.

We don't have anything against binis, its just they aren't what TMF is about. This has been backed up by our members in previous threads.

How do your local club feel about you having it on their stand instead?

Sista sista, I have two friends from my local club that may want to convoy with me and join the TMF stand. Is it too late or not? If there's still space, I'll tell Jules in her Mini "Ruby" and Liam in his orange Clubby estate. Will be a good little convoy then <3

I shall litrally come say hi to any of you standing in the club area. Would be nice to have a good old natter to the faceless people of tmf :)

I will be the tall guy haha

And to back shifty up on the whole MINI thing

Tmf tolerates MINI'S but this is a mini forum, its like going to Manchester city and saying i support Man united but cant i sit with you guys and wearing a man united top with them.

They would tolerate it (few of them may) but if it comes for them to choose between that guy and one of there mates who's an actual Manchester city fan, who do you reckon they'll pick to sit in that last seat they have avaible?

You see

Now tranfers that over to our side of things and with club stands. :)

So with that in mind CAN I PUT MY FIESTA ON THE STAND? :P haah i kid

My club allow it on the club stand, they take the wee but its permitted even though we are a classic mini club, however i am the only person from scmc going to stamford hall. To be honest, i might just not bother now, can spend the time fixing the classic instead.

And it shows how little you know, mini2 isnt that popular in this country, so i doubt they will have a clubstand, its all about total mini. And although they are a MINI forum, they still allow the classic on their stand.

You seem to spend allot of time complaining about the new mini owners, but when it comes down to it, they are much more welcoming of us than you are of them.

Did i utter one amount of complaint about new minis and there owners? No i did not

I dont want to turn this into some sort of competition or whatever

but listen, this forum is dedicated to Classic Minis, everything on this site is all from 1959 to 2000.

The BMW minis at both Beaulieu and MITP what quite a considerable amount.

Im sure if we all went over the MINI2 forum and asked if we could whack our minis on our stand, they would say EXACTLY what our moderators and i are saying.

I hate that Classic mini owners get digs for slating to new mini.

When bmw mini owners are completely just the same and to be honest we as a classic mini community have ever right to judge, comment, give opinion on what they create with the mini badge

Here's a bit fat conclusion right

Minis Rust and breakdown
Binis are tacky and fat

There two fat juicy negatives

As maggies minder said, none of what i said even mentioned you, but since you want to have a go, you need pointing in the right direction.

Mini's from 1959 - 2000, sure would put a few members on here with classic mini's out of the forum.

You wouldnt get a responce on mini2, since they are a heavily USA based website, and also dont have stands at any event.

BMW owners are not atall negative about classic mini owners, you guys need to stop treating us like pricks when you dont even know us. Haveing been in the MINI scene for a few weeks i have noticed that 90% of the reason MINI owners dont like classic owners is because you treat us like ****. They have been nothing but welcoming of me on total mini, even before i was seriously thinking about buying one. The first thing i said was i own a classic, they all wanted to see it, and see what work i had done etc. They were genuinly interested and appreciative of the classic.

Mini's only rust and break down if you dont look after them, shows how much you know about the car you own.
Bini's arent tacky, far better build quality than anything in the same range other than maybe the audi A1 or BMW 1 series, and you can hardly call a car fat. I can say that, because i have driven every single small modern hatch i could think of and didnt like any of them, the last place i went was MINI because when is started looking i was adamant i wouldn't buy one, but i test drove one and within the first mile i loved it.

Have you ever driven a MINI?
Have you ever had a proper conversation with a MINI owner?

My guess is the answer to both those questions is no.

Right. Enough now guys, yeah?

TMF stand events are for classic Minis and variants. That's that. But there's no need for everyone to get involved in it.

No more responses required UNLESS they are related to Stanford Hall please? X

Personally, I would like to see Burnard’s MINI on the TMF stand. While I appreciate that it has been decided that this will not happen, this does not mean that as I member I should not be able to put my point of view forward. I also appreciate that many will deem it irrelevant as the decision has been made, but I do not share that point of view either. I do not wish to be inflammatory, just allowed express my opinion.

Burnard is one of a number of TMF members who either have both a Mini and a MINI or who are interested in both. He has played and active part in this forum and is relatively well know to TMF members. As we all know, TMF is predominately a Mini forum, but is purportedly MINI tolerant/friendly. Many Mini clubs/events/meets are similar in being predominately for Mini but MINI friendly, however the vast majority of these do allow MINIs at their events or on their stands. To me, TMF definitely feels out of step, not that I am saying that there is necessarily any thing wrong with being out of step, it is the reasons why that matter.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Tigger, Burnard’s MINI and she did make me smile and even take a photo – I think that is the first photo of a MINI that I have taken! I believe that Tigger would be an asset and possibly even an attraction on the TMF stand.

I also believe that TMF is not consistent in its position towards MINI. Naturally, the TMF team is made of of people with differing views about both MINI and its connections with Mini, however, if you read through the many threads, to me it does feel that TMF is inconsistent. I also feel that TMF does not come across in general as either MINI friendly or tolerant, but that is my personal interpretation and view. However, that is a different debate as this thread is about a stand rather than the whether or not TMF takes a consistent approach to its position on MINI.

One of the reasons that Burnard wishes to bring his MINI rather than his Mini is that his Mini currently off the road, a situation common to many. Would we rather have Burnard in his MINI or no Burnard at all?

As ever the optimist and opportunist, I see that the 15th place is yet unfilled and we have Tigger without a stand to sit herself on. I guess it really would be too much for Tigger and Burnard to join the Minis, if of course they would still be prepared to. I’m not asking for Tigger to have this own little platform with 7 MIni either side of him bowing down submissively or anything, but possibly popped on the end, not too many miles away from the rest of you. However, I guess that if that were to happen, I may need to step over a few of the TMF staff/admin’s dead bodies before I am able to come and say hello! While I do have thoughtful and considered views on MINI and its relationship to Mini, I do also have a sense of humour – sorry!

Wish i could explain myself that well.
Right now, the only way you'd get me there is to have 7 mini's each side all facing towards her, might even let you put the flag stand i fixed for nothing under her wheel...

There is no point me putting my car on the stand, i know where its not welcome, it is the simple principle of the matter. I have helped out the forum and a number of its members and never had a chance to put my car on a stand, the first time i ask i am told i am simple not allowed.

I will be honest, my car is not off the road, it is simply very close to the edge of its limited mileage insurance policy, and i want to take it to castle coombe.
