the colour looks like antic gold,
I agree it looks like it might have been more yellow, not sure about gold though.
Its listed as green on the logbook, although its also registered as a 2 litre, so may have been re registered at some point, so i'm not going to trust it as it might have been already really faded when the V5 was obtained/changed.

Green is the wire for the tacho
black for ignition live
brown is earth

Where do you take your ignition live from? I know it runs to the coil, but its all been ripped out before, so i'm not sure. Can i take a live from the LH side of the fusebox and run that onto the black wire in the vauxhall loom??

Iv made my own loom in the end so i just made a fresh 12v fused ignition supply from the white wire on the steering barrel lock
