Update time actually! thanks for digging the thread out..

The rear end was completed a few weeks back

Posted Image

Posted Image

Got these to cover the alloys legally

Posted Image

Then I was onto front end bare metal work

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

This for the sills and valances

Posted Image

Also my bargain! £1.04 on ebay

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

My all-time favorite steering wheel, its a 1979 Bakerlite..

I then primed the front end

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Not all good, the primer for some reason wasnt hardening enough and was clogging up my sanding discs, even 80grit.

So...

Posted Image

Back to the bare bones again, and she will be in primer next week, using a different primer this time, all will be fine.

Posted Image

Trial fitting the screen again, and seems the bottom corners need slight linishing down to allow the screen to sit properly.

Posted Image

One thats adjusted I can re fit another screen to make sure all is well.. trying not to do this again.. at least it was only a crappy screen..

Bloody hell Dan!

I didn't realise you had gone so in depth with this! I haven't been on TMF for ages, so have only seen the odd photo on FB.

I must say, I'm in awe of what you have achieved in such a small space of time.

It'll be a fine motor once you're done with it.

Dan, yr lucky the screen cracked now, imagine yr done painting and driving along.....few potholes and then.......I would measure the screen at different places, then measure the gaps in front panel, just to make sure there is and even distance, I am sure you will anyway after this excersize.... ;D

are you changing the front window rubber? i had a gap in the bottom like that and it was pissing in rain. the seals come as one piece, until the glue or bonding breaks. ive just fitted a wide seal to mine and fixed the leak.

Hello Dan - it is looking very nice. Sorry about the primer and the windscreen but that is just like it!!! One step forward and another back. But it is good.

Keep up the good work

Hello stranger!! How are you ?

Yeah, was a pain but all sorted now ready to prime. Found out the bad fitting was due to the seal, tried a different one, fits a treat!

Appriciate the comment Hugh.

I knew someone would spot that!!! It's only on as a temporary fit, its coming off for paint and will be spun round when fit properly.

Thanks for the comment.
