Thanks Graham yes i may have to remove some for clearance etc. My alloys have been coated and i heard the powder coat needs chipping off the wheel nut seat on the alloy. I dont want to haha theyre too perfect.

Jordie- Aye great bargain. Will keep an ear out on the o/s door for you.

Just when I thought things werr going ok. Its not found marks in my paint on the roof. My good friend Pete said its either moisture of rust. It didnt clear with light heat from a hair dryer. Flatted an effected area to bare metal and its clear. Theres surface rust. Cant believe it dont know how its got in there.

Looking at that then Dan the only thing you can do now is strip the paint off back to bare metal, treat the surface rust then start again. A royal pain i know but i don't think you have any real choice here.

Yep. Thats the plan. Its only extreamly minor so ku rust will sort it no problem. I will do it after the body. Looking for some unit space to paint it in one go.

you're more than welcome. It's a mini, what do we all expect :L it's going well, you've got to take the steps to make it good. You've got more patience than me :L

Just read the whole of this post, I can't believe how much you have done - it is amazing! and with everything you have been through too!

I am in awe of you and abit envious, not just because you have a mini (I dont yet, am saving tho!) but doing the whole restoration yourself, I would love to do it, time, space and family unfortunatley do not allow.

Keep up the amazing work you are doing and have done so far, I will be watching this in anticpation!

(No pressure for the end result ofc :proud: )

Jason
