I can't comment on the ap store as i've never used it, only ever used android market. Although I can't really see anything wrong with android market... Its all clear categories for the aps, filter the view to only see free apps or the top rated/most downloaded aps and the search function seems to work great as well. I think as its powered by google, its about as good as its going to get in terms of finding the aps your looking for and filtering your results.

Then you just click the ap you want, it asks you for permission to install and then thats it. It downloads and installs and your done. Then you get messages every now and again saying theres newer versions available and things.

Yeah the App store works the same. The drama with the Android market is that there are so many versions of Android, not all apps work on all versions. The other big problem, which wont affect you unless you have a tablet, is that the Apps don't really work on both, as the tablets use versions of Android which are specific for tablets. It is something that Android developers are starting to address now, but it ultimately comes down to screen resolutions, capabilities of each piece of hardware etc. I do like the fact that the different versions have different names like Gingerbread etc, but the latest one is called Ice Cream Sandwich!

I like the fact there are debates about things like this. It would be so boring if everyone just agreed with everything. I'm just impressed at how far technology has developed over the years. If you go back to what we were using at the turn of the century, its really quite impressive. Competition is good as well, as it means the customers are the ones who benefit. If Apple had no close competition they wouldn't need to develop at the same rate. It's only going to get better. Bring on the phone wars!

I find it interesting that as of next year, OFCOM is going to start auctioning off the rights for 4G connectivity, which hopefully should make 3G look like dial up in comparison. There are still large parts of the UK that don't get decent 3G yet so that should be interesting. I believe the US is already starting on 4G. They pay a lot of money for their contracts though, we do get a better deal.
