Il just buy my mates. Spi generic mini. Minor mods. LCb, rc40 he bought it for 2500 an he isn't a mechanic so it's falling apart. 2nd gear going so when that goes il buy it from him for 800, smash a spare box in and run it into the ground!

A series 5 port8) made to be able to pretty much bolt on either a feckin large turbo or a KAD twin cam8) so bottom end and gearbox is pretty bullet proof :P

In my opinion it isnt bullet proof. You would have to change a lot to 'bolt on' a twin cam head. Your bottom end is only as strong as your weakest component.

Oh I know that:P I mean I don't have to go about buy a new crank, rods and gearbox parts to be able to run one. Obviously I'd rebuild the whole engine, huge machining job!

I would replace the crank and rods and also the pistons, and also the box. ive smashed two 2nd gear synchros in a gear. For a high revving normally aspirated engine that is going to see over 7500 on the regular it will need better components. Which is the situation i am in now. Rpm kills the internals not the power.

Turbo would be a better route and more bhp for money

Replace? I don't know if I can get much better:P the crank is a fully worked MED one, SC billet rods, hepolite pistons (could replace with omegas) and the box is fully straight cut. I have seen KAD twinkams running with lesser or similar specs!

I know I could get the swiftune crank set and KAD dog box..

But still.. Probably end up doing a duratec conversion. Above 150 horsepower where is tr point with staying with A series? :P just costs too much to get not much more!
