stiil waiting on my diff and the con rods...... tum ti tum ti tum. engine has now been moved into my room. yes, my room. awsome.

thinking about changing the cam as well. think that the 286 with 1.5:1 high lifters will be a bit tame?? race cam? may do a straight swap with the ole minisport.

This is an amazing build, I'm rather jealous of your car, and your job :P

SC rods seem a bit overkill for your engine though? Or am I thinking of the wrong ones... But surely just some std professionally lightened ones would be fine? And much, much cheaper :P

hmm, maybe.. but seeing as it will rev up to 8 and will eventually have either a turbo bolted on or a KAD head conversion done i may as well do it now!! :D its how i have really done the engine. bottom end is all strong, good diff and driveshaft assembly, everything on the short block is good, so will not need much doing to it for me to be able to wind a hell of a lot more horsepower out of it!!

XD thanks!

If you go for a KAD 16V head or BMW Head conversion......I'll have your ported head :3

Or both? ;D but fair play then, should be an impressive motor when you're done

Would a turbo fit in the bay with a twin cam?

It would be great to see how much power that would make. Don't the twin cams make 150 alone?

No idea. Would be cool though!! Ether have to have a turbo box or stick the brute out the bonnet. I'd choose the bonnet!!

Around 130 std. Turbo I'd want to make 240 ish reliable powrs

That would be a monster engine and probably one of the fastest a series engined minis on TMF.

yeah maybe:P in the pipeline but a loong way away!

if i go and do a motorsport degree at wiltshire college i may do some sort of fun engine for a mini. all custom as i would have lathes, 5 axis milling machines, flow benches etc to my disposal.

ideas?

I'd be intrigued to see a Diesel mini, though diesel and fun don't usually go hand in hand.

V4 Mini.

Just by a V5 Block from a golf and chop the end off..... Obviously its a bit more technical but you get the idea...
