My ticket arrived today!

I just got me ticket from the Postie.

Also included is a lil note:

Dear Applicant,
Congartulations on being successful in your application for this years run, Please note that due to another event happening at the Sports Centre on the same day the lower public car park & surrounding roads will be closed to both the L2B and the public so please do not cause traffic problems by attempting to park there.

I think its only about parking outside of crystal palace park so, unless the was your ultimate goal :L you should be ok

It will scupper the hundreds of sneaky people (myself included) who turn up on the day, but don't want to have to wait 'til lunchtime to leave the site.

well if you got a ticket, crystal palace is just the start, it would be much better to start the run with everyone, and everyone stts to eave at 8:30 so it wont take that long before everyones gone :L

Sadly, Mr Hobnob, it takes hours for everybody to filter out of the park. If you turn up on the day & start from within CP, you tend to end up in Brighton having missed most of the show.

screw that i'll just park somewhere else. last time i parked in there (we got there early too) i didnt leave till 11ish and by the time i got to brighton it was a 9 mile (slight exageration) walk to the stalls and missed a hell of a lot :)

haha every year i read of the 3am starts and loud music so i'll pass :)

i find the drive there with people in minis, the waving and laughs along the way all fun and a nice experience but my first sentance still stands ;P

Unless things have changed, in order to be first out you need to camp overnight at Crystal palace and then be up at about 3am to get your car first in the que (when I say first, I actually mean amongst the first fifty or so during the mass "free for all" that ensues at that time of the morning.) If you turn up on the Sunday morning itself, then you tend to automatically be behind everyone who camped there overnight.

This is why I'll be cheating again this year and will be tucked up nice and warm in my hotel by the side of the A23 the night before. Then after a civilised three course breakfast, I'll tag on to the run as it passes through Crawley and then park in the public car park at Brighton Marina.

You can pick up your run pack in Brighton, isn't it?

I might just do that this year. Pootle around Croydon (beautiful part of the world) at 9am-ish & hook up with other mins then pick up my pack by the seaside.
That would give me another couple of hours in my bed too......

Im gonna find me a nice B&B for the night Or stay at my brothers in Croydon and get up early paha! I'v never been big on camping anyway.

as for getitng first out think i will be on an all nighter and then a few energy dinks to get me throught the day
