The thing is its not the Minis fault. Everyday day, morning or night, I get bullied by bigger cars. People tailgate me, pull out on me, cut me up and needlessly overtake me. It's only a 998 engine but it isn't slow by any stretch but it doesn't make any difference. I don't drive slow or do I drive like a tit but everyone seems to have a 'got to get past' mentality. I don't know if it this particular Mini because it didn't seem to happen so much in the red mini. Everyday journeys are becoming stressful to the point that I am toying with the idea of taking the Mini off the road and driving a run-of-the-mill car. Am I making something out of nothing or do other people experience this as well.

Might I suggest revenge in the form of an R1 conversion? Or maybe a supercharger :shifty:

i get that!
boy racers drive up my backside, then last minute the over take me, winging it!!!
people flash and do all sorts.
Its annoying.
But it makes me happy when you get people having a good look at it when driving around, especially little kids who scream out...''MINI!!!''
that makes my day!

Certainly seems to be the general reponse from many other drivers around the London area to classic Mini's nowadays :( ..............I think it is partly because other drivers are no longer used to seeing classic Mini's in everyday use and now find them so small and narrow looking when compared with most modern 'superminis' and they therefore expect them to be slow and hold them up in some way?

I did lose my rag once when a van tried to overtake me on the wrong side of the road. I put my foot down and wouldn't let him past. I know it was a very stupid thing to do and I don't condone it in anyway but I was just sick to death of it.

Maybe its more of a city thing?.....In the sticks like we are people tend to let you pull out, wave, and you get that weird smile - a bit like when you have a newborn awwww so sweet kinda look

So the answer is keep the mini, move area :proud:

Simples!! .....+ Meerkat noise

I get it in the Metro ALL the time, literally. I had some yobbo types in a Clio with a gash ripspeed bodykit tailgate me for 2 miles yesterday, flashing me up right behind, i was traveling at the speed limit and refused to go faster just because they decided they wanted me too, there were plenty of opportunity for them to overtake, obviously just being prats. I know the local roads well so took the single lane hill at 25mph just to p*ss them off in the end!!

I had a rant not long after I got my mini, seemed like everyone was on the road to bully me, I still get wound up with tail gaters but I get that in my bog standard car. Someone mentioned in that thread that they couldn't care less about any of the idiots and that they drive for themselves and I realised it's not worth getting upset about them, they're only getting satisfaction if you react. So long as they don't touch my mini, I couldn't care less!

I have driven many classics over the years and there has always been fellow road users who have absolutely no respect for classic cars and they are determined to carve you up but I just ignore them

if they get right up my arse, i slow down.
ive had a queue of traffic behind me before because the chap directly behind me was such a tit.

and the number of people ive done at lights after theyve followed me being nobheads is getting difficult to tally now.
