Soon as Martin is back on is feet, I will ( as I have done for some time now ) use him above preference of all other suppliers whenever possible

His dream got away from him, and he fell over his feet..... Ut that doesn't take away the fact he is one of the most knowledgeable, decent and trustworthy people on the mini scene.

Of the thousands of people he has serviced and helped, a tiny group of people have taken it upon themselves to smear his name as thin and far as possible. Within a couple of months their gripes and **** stirring will be forgotten, and Martin will be back to normal.

Martin's only real failing was the thousands of hours he spent talking to and helping people.....when he should have been hard at work on the machines.... Unfortunately he cared too much, things caught up with him, and got out of control.

I think that this post should be locked personally as it seems to be going round in circles and is borderline slanderous in parts. I kow neither party involved but think that an opinion has been aired and that is great, but dirty laundry doesn't need to be over-washed.

On a second note I think Shifty has done a great job of trying to help everyone and anyone involved by the sounds of it. Well done that man.

Slander is short term verbal false accusation. Libel is written, broadcast or published words of a false accusation.

For your statement t be true, someone has to be falsely accusing some one of something that is untrue

And The topic should stay unlocked. There are clearly people who have a genuine story to tell. I do disagree though about using the personal names of the parties involved.

As I said already, I will let this stay open as long as it's factual.

To date I have not removed or edited any comments made.

If people who are genuinely involved or who have had dealing with MRA wish to comment then feel free, if they don't wish to do it publically then feel free to drop me a PM in confidence.

On a side note I'm still awaiting a PM from the OP with his info.

MRA Minis are one of the only companies in the Mini scene that people haven't had a bad word to say about for years. I've come across martin a few times and he seems a great guy. We need to remember everything that Martin is to the Mini scene, without people like him the scene simply wouldn't exist, or it'd be full of the few cowboy traders that come about now and then.

I'll stand by Martin all the way, he has a lot of loyal customers, and they'll stay true to him like he has tried to do to everybody here. Martin's a great guy, and I think any true Mini enthusiast would appreciate his contribution to development of Mini products, and the scene in general.

Don't add fuel to the fire unless you know the whole story, and I bet if you met Martin, you'd change your outlook on the situation completely.

I feel I must say something here, however I really am not sure what to say, no matter what I do or say there are those that will twist it to please their own way of thinking.

Firstly a big thank you to all those who have and continue to support me in my hour of need, THANK YOU

I will say the following,

1) I don't wish for any posts to be removed, or changed.
2) I have not asked for any to be altered or removed.
3) I don't wish for the topic to locked.

I agree with this statment, and Paul's "Shoutforjoy" car is currently one of the jobs that I am working towards getting finished.

As for Rickspi's court case, I was told to leave it and the liquidator would sort this out, otherwise I was all set to contest it in full.

And Rick if you read this do you want to tell them about your phone call to me 3 or 4 days ago ?

John, don't forget to tell everyone how I spent my time at your garage at my own cost helping you get your Mini started because you didn't feel confident in starting a new engine.

I am sorry if i have upset anyone, those who truly know me, will also know the amount of stress I go through if I think I have done something wrong or upset someone.

I thank my supporters and my friends

To be fair the contributions made on the forum by MRA such as technical advice has been superb. Martin is very knowledgeable particularly in technical subjects. That I think is what no one can have any doubt about. That's all I'm going to say in the matter

There are a number of you that ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

I have known Martin for somewhere near 20 years now, and in that time he has helped me in so many ways I cannot even begin to list them. My assurances may not mean much for some of you, but i can unreservedly state that anyone that has legitimate outstanding work to be carried out has nothing to worry about, it will be done, even if this means that Martin looses out over this.

MK John, You probably aren't aware, but I was sitting in the office on the evening you called to speak to Martin, regarding your engine, and the diatribe of abuse you hurled at him was uncalled for, impolite, and downright disgusting, I have over 20 years experience in the retail motor trade, and have never heard any customer speak to a trader in the way you did - I would have sent you on your way, and probably informed the police of your abusive conduct.

Seeing as RickSPI is currently chasing other enquiries i cannot comment much on this matter, but suffice to say, any customer that changes specification of his order that many times within the duration of a decidedly non standard build would have been told to take his business elsewhere by me.

Please remember, Martin, and the rest of the crew that are MRA Minis have given the Mini fraternity much, and asked for nothing in return, please have the courtesy of allowing them to try to salvage what they can from this situation, your negative attitudes will serve no purpose, other than to make life difficult for everyone.

Let me close by saying I am not an employee, nor am I a Director, or shareholder of any company that has anything to do with MRA Engineering, MRA Minis, or any other entity that relates to Martin. I am posting this comment here without his previous knowledge, or permission.

Having spoken to him on the phone this evening, I can say I have never heard him so distraught over the venomous words of a few small minded individuals.

Cheers
Jenbachertech

It takes a single person years to build up a good reputation, but a small group can destroy it in just a few minutes.

Cut the man some slack. Everything that I have so far seen or read from MRA was solid work and excellent advice. And I think it's safe to assume that this whole situation did not develop because his goal was to rip the mini community off (there are enough of those on ebay). I hope they will recover from this and get back on their feet asap.
