As i've already said I welcome facts to be aired here, to date there has only been one disgruntled customer who has done so. He contacted us and we(tmf) are helping to work through the problems with him.

Now i applude the attempt at mediation shifty however after having some recent corrispondance with a so called staff member i would not want that hippacritical idiot dealing with anything as sensitive as issues like this and you would have to admit that staff members have had a poor track record when trying to defuse or mediate a thread problem in the past, also its actually nothing to to with the staff on TMF unless they have been affected themselves so there is a high chance if there being more than 3 digruntled customers as theres a big a series world outside of TMF.

With regards to the posts saying that threads like this have no place on forums well thats plain wrong! by people airing there views here stating the facts then no one can make that imortant informed choice, if you see this thread then give Martin money and you dont see your goods then there is no-one else to blame.

I do see what you mean but it is very easy to broadcast false information via forums and ALSO say things that you would not say to someone's face. This is hence why Shifty has mentioned to stick to the facts.

The Internet can be good and bad at the same time.

Charlie

I dont see it as in my opinion its hard to broadcast false info on mini forums in general in order to hurt a buisiness, usually these sort of complaints and problems have substance as the mini community and the services it is catered for is a small one.
If complaints like this had arisen on a ford forum with the many services provided and the higher chance of personal problems rather than buisiness related problems being the route cause of the post i would agree with you, for example i made no attempt to hide that i dont like Martin or the way he operates however i would never dream of starting a thread slandering him saying he had ripped me off or exaggerating the issue to hurt his buisiness i dont believe that sort of thing is in the mini community and i think that anyone lying or exaggerating a problem within the mini community would get cought out easily.

As i said a good thread with balanced factual posts with give people the chance to make an informed choice as to using Martin or any company he is associated with.

Wolfe, I agree with what you have said regarding my comment, but having been involved with things like this in the past emotions can rule people's heads (not saying that is the case here) . That is when things can become unbalanced.

If things stay factual then, yes it is a good thing as consumers can benefit. But, for example, bmcescosse has cross posted to another forum and they won't follow this thread but will remember what he said. The ability to share information so quickly can effect the information that is passed...

Please keep things factual and relevant then you really cant go wrong.

right in march 2010 i was advised to go to martain at mra to rebuild the turbo engine i had just brought, we stripped it down and decided a spec and it was ordered, the money was paid up front.
At first the engine build was slow as he was moving units, then as time passed by the car engine wasnt progressing, after buying l2b 2010 ticket and planning to run it at 2010 statapod after being assured it would be ready it turned it wasnt, with countless different dealines set and all being missed it was in june 11 that i finally said politly look i need my engine or i need the money to purchase one as i didnt want to miss another show season,
This was when comunication broke down, with all calls texts and messages being ignored. still nothing happened and i was then shut out not knowing what was going on, i managed to get a poorly built short engine and some old casting given to me from the door of the unit as i was refused entry.
After a few months of this it was evident there was no intent to get my engine sorted and neither my money so i started a portfolio to take to court including receipts and paperwork signed by me martain and my dad. this was submitted at a cost of around 90 pounds to kettering court. a few weeks later i was informed i had won and that martain was ordered to pay me the sum of 2,700.20 then a few days later i got notice of voluntary liquidation in which the only big creditors seemed to be the altria family.
To this day i am heavily down on money and after giving a full engine into him i am far from having a full engine back, i hae the short engine, head casting, bellhousing etc and a few other casting in alot worse shape than what was given in. i now have no money to get the car on the road and no bits to either,
I personally feel let down as a customer, especially as i had held trust in him thoughout the 2 years and also helped him out in his unit which he eventually told me he cant pay me because he cant afford. though the whole time i backed up martain to fellow enthusiast and recomended his services to people and at the end of it this is how i have been treated for it, this whole saga has been a major source of stress for me and still is at the moment which isnt helping in normal day to day life. it has really made me question wether to trust people now. I really want this sorted but there has been no attempt on there part to make it right, infact quite the oposite it feels as if im being taken as a joke by someone and that they deem it acceptable to treat me like this, the money was saved though working in my aprenticeship and meant me missing thing like holidays and festivals, and also taking a small loan to fund it.

Edited: broke it up a bit into paragraphs as it was a bit bulky

Rick SPI, I'am very sorry to hear that, it appears that you have been let down, how do you feel the court treated you, I've heard they can be a real pain when they want to be!

My patience has now totally ran out. This is a very serious issue and I'm getting hugely annoyed with idiots trying to be clever.

It stops NOW, no more warnings, no more tolerance, next time posting ability WILL be removed.

Feel free to PM me, but DO NOT COMMENT on this thread.

Lirge, one more comment about this thread placement and I WILL remove your posting ability for a few days. I am sick to the back teeth of your comments, they have no place in a serious discussion and are not welcome.

I am appalled at the language, the attitude and downright ignorance concerning this topic, we all have the right to air our views, but some of you out there should be banned from this forum.
I cannot believe that the TMF staff have been so tolerant with the disgusting language and abuse aired.
I joined this forum to learn and chat to likeminded mini fans and i can understand if some of you have got concerns about the company mentioned, but don,t abuse this site, going down the right channels is all you have to do.This is one of the big problems regarding the whole internet thing,it really stinks when things like this crop up.
I for one have no desire to be associated with anything that i have read tonight and no longer wish to be part of this forum. I have enjoyed being part of the forum but this is nasty stuff. Please remove all my details asap.
