you mean Director as in media direction, or "The Entertainment Industry"....

It's not the self employed bit which is hindering you....

Yes, that's the bit they don't like.

I had a list somewhere of occupations considered high risk, I'll try and find it.

I've only been refused once. that was a few years back when I wanted to insure a 500cc motorcycle. My job at the time was transporting race horses in an HGV lorry. I was classed as high risk due to my job being connected to the racing industry. At 40+, clean everything was that crazy or what?

note tho that if you lie about your insurence it is illegal the chances of them finding out are very slim but some companys can go as far as not paying out for your car if your insurence is wrong my mate had a astra with every mod possible mod, the worth of the car was neerly 20k for a mk3 astra and because he didnt insure his bucket seats the insurence company told him to get screwed basiclly he even had to pay for the lampost he hit lool!!!

ah, I didnt mean lie.... It was just an example of what I imagine is part of his job..

seriously, if you dont tell the insurance company you have changed seats, they can wash their hands of any claim.. I would say that it dont sound right but... we are talking about an insurance company :D

Look around mate, to be honest when i tried to insure my mini few months ago these 'mini/classic specialists' were way more expensive than just any other insurance...got mine through RAC including breakdown for £750.00!

Finally sorted this out today!
Went with Graham Sykes - 1000 TPFT with breakdown and legal cover.
Better than anything else I had been offered!
Went for a really long drive after the phone call!!!

Oh just realized my MOT expired today as well..... ITS NEVER ENDING!!!

This is the worry, insurance company's are in business to make money not give it away. DONT LIE ABOUT ANYTHING its just not worth it and DONT BE FOOLED BY A LOW QUOTE as above you run the huge risk of only getting book price back when you've spent a fortune on it....agreed valuation is the safer option

Had what i would say a simular problem with adrian flux. Just phoned about my renewal in decemeber and guess what? They wont now insure my car unless its fitted with a thatchams approved alarm thus want me to pay out another £1200. This is a fiesta 2004 1.2 already with manufactures alarm and i have my no claims, the cheeky bints went on comparasion website, the cheapest i found was around £600 without needing a bloody thatchams alarm.

just to note ive already had one years of insurance with them with the same bloody car

i agree, our car has an agreed valuation of £4000, and it costs £130 a year fully comp to insure but that is with a 3000 mile maximum, even tho our car only did about 400 miles this year, it spends most of its life covered up in the garage.
