Theres was a feature on the old forum to specify which car you had and which modifications you had done. Also you could put some pictures of your car on there. If anyone can remember it? Thats Long gone now.

That was called the garage and so few people used it or even knew what it was that it was decided that it wasn't really of any use.

Yeh fair enough, i used it but then im a small percentage.

There was a vote at the time to see how many people used it:

Oh yeh, haha. Didnt even notice it, only really started using the forum more recentally.

I dont miss it, so its all good. Loving the new forum thou, the notification thing is pretty good.

while your looking at this thread....

Ive noticed that on the page for configuring your Signature it says

Your signature may contain:
• Any number images • Images of any size • Any number of URLs • Any number of lines

But ive noticed that there seems to be a maximum height that shows in threads.

Ah, that's something I must have forgot to change when updating the signature system.

Thanks for pointing it out, I'll go sort it :).

Would it be possible to have the disclaimer/warning bit back, at the top of each valuations thread, that states that it is impossible to get an accurate valuation without providing pictures. Also in the technical section, the bit at the top of each thread that requests the model and year of the car in question. Otherwise we spend a lot of our time posting the phrases "photos would help!!", or "what year/model are we talking about here?" :(

I sit here and watch people give short rude answers to new TMF members and never see that member post again.

It's no longer possible to embed it in the thread when you create a new topic like that sadly. What I have done is re-write the rules in the valuations area to make them a bit more visible and I've made it a rule that you should include images.

The only other way to improve that section is for the users who spot these posts that don't include images to report them so we can deal with them quickly.

I'm glad you pointed out the missing model, year, description thing in the Problems, Questions and Technical section. It had completely slipped my mind that it used to be imposed as part of a post template. Another feature that seems to have been removed from the system by Invision Power. Boo. Anyway, I've added this information to the rules area for that section so it's a bit clearer.

I've investigated this and it seems to be a bug in the software so I've alerted Invision Power of it. Better they fix it once for everyone than everyone fixes it once for themselves.
