Oh good! Mine has a 1098 in it, happily keeps up / overtakes saxo's and corsa's etc, love wiping smiles of their faces with a little mini, ahaha ;)

People do underestimate mini's at the best of times, all in good fun when they can't shake us off though ;)

ahh fancy stumbling across this thread, my sister showed me some pictures of your mini off facebook the other night (you were in the same year at school and i think your moped met the back of our new mini after a school production a while back) and thought jeez that looked a bit crumpled.

Bad luck with the van driver and good luck with your insurers, the prices we have to pay you would think they would give us a decent price back wouldn't ya?

I'd be looking at getting about £1800-£2k out of an insurance company for that car.

The value they pay out isn't the actual value of the car, its the cost to you of replacing that car. Bear in mind its a limited edition and has sentimental value(??1!), you'll have to travel to buy another example as good, then theres the cost of making it as good as the one its replacing.

Are you making any personal injury claim?

I like to speak to the loss adjuster personally, if you're playing fair and not trying to screw them for whiplash as well, tell the guy this, if you're being nice then they should too.

Dealing with insurance companies is just like buying the car in the first place, its all about haggling and doing a deal!!

yes they do under estimate the mini ;), ha ha yes i did hit the back of your car on my moped, my bad ;). i pay £2900 a year for the insurasnce on my mini then they have the cheek to offer me £1100. i belive it is worth around £1750 to £2000, could push for more. i have made a personal injury cliam and it is a homest one as i couldnt lift my head and it is still tight now so i am not just trying to get money it is genuine :). it is just got to tell them the rairiety of my car etc and negotiate

I'm sure you'll have another one soon enough, £2900 for insurance is a bit steep? Who's that with? :) And are you going to go for another rare one or something like a city e or a mayfair this time around? :)

Should try insure 2 Drive, insured my mini fully comp for £1700 :) even that was a bit steep aha, my mate was on footman james and got it for £850 for the year, only third party fire and theft though :) Rare ones are hard to find if you want one that was in as good nick as yours :(
