After some investigation (me, a torch and the car on stands..and plenty of knocks on my head...minis should have been made bigger and more accessible) it looks like my over heating/overflowing radiator may be related the the cylinder head, as the following pictures show.

I followed the drips from the bottoms of the engine (lower engine steady)...

Around the flywheel housing

and then around the head

So this might be the issue, but as I am off on my hols this weekend I don't really want to take the head off and look. Luckily the place that did the work on the car is only about 3 miles from my house, so might risk just taking it around.

I also had a look at a leaky bleed valve on my 4 pot brakes, first and only purchase from Minisport....not impressed with the service or product, the valve was very slightly loose - the thread might be slightly damaged, so a bit of ptfe tape (thats plumbing tape for those not in the know) fitted back on. Fresh newspaper placed unther the wheel. Hopefully in a weeks time when i get back from hols, it will be completely devoid of drips!

Well I have been away with work for the last 5 weeks (sailing around the Caspian in the most horrid boat ever), so glad to be home. And with a little extra money in my sky rocket I have finally ordered my carpets and new wheels. I have gone for 6x10 Starmags..

And here is a picture of the grille Davie!

I still need to take it back to the garage to get the engine/head sorted and a few paint work issues. I will try and organise that in the next week, before I go away with again.....

Unfortunatley I am going away Monday, so they are just going to have to sit in the garage until I get home. This working for a living gets in the way of working on my Mini.

Well I have been home 3 days, and I wouldn't recommend going to Baku for a holiday. This is how the car stand at the moment, I am waiting on some rear lights, my orginals have a crack on the drives side. So i have decided to replace the lot, so that it looks shiny. IT does mean I have some MK4 lights going to spare!

The little bits of masking tape are where there are imprefections in the paint work, and as I have said before they will be getting sorted out soon. Hopefully take the car around to the restorers next week. So thye can work on it while I am away in the Caspian again!

Spend today finishing off the carpets, they were an odd fit over the tunnel...the carpets are about an inch too high over it, but unless you press it you will never know.

Pretty pleased with the look, just need to fit the door cars, dash pieces and the door handles then I will be pretty much finished. Still its needs the seats recovering, an MOT and tax...so not 100% finished!

Unfortunately while fitting the passenger side arches piece I managed to crease it, once the chairs are in I am sure It will look fine and will forever be a testiment to my skills

Been a while since I updated this, not alot has happened to be honest. I have fitted the door cards, painted the seat brackets.

I think I am going to have to get the brown seats recovered, they look a little out of place.
