Had to post (don't normally, i just lurk) because of the cool user name and virtually the same car as me except I'm way way behind you but seeing this has made me want to get on with it, so thanks, looks great

Last week I was away getting induced at my new job.....exactly like the old one, but I had to sit through people talking about Health & Safety and what the company stands for. Not boring in the slightest!!

When I came home I saw water seeping from around the head again, its only been 2 weeks since the MOT and the garage gave it the all clear.

So I removed the head to take it for a skim. Only to find out that they never put any valve stem seal on at the garage.....what effect would that have on the engine while running?

Also, when i removed the drain plug from the back of the engine...no water came out, I scrapped the inside of the hole and it was full of gunk/rust/sludge deposits. I checked the rest of the coolant holes and they all seem to have sludge at the bottom. No wonder the engine seemed to be over heating but sensor not saying so anything!! At least its only done about 6 miles since the rebuild.

Here is the head, before skim, considering it was cleaned there is alot of carbon build up!!

So I am less than happy at the moment, going to call the guy up and complain....

its looking really good, just got to repaint and rebuild it over the next few days.

I thought while the exhaust is off I might as well wrap it, so waiting for that to be delivered in the new year.

Today I have decided to start fixing my wiring loom, the insulation is so brittle in places that it has snapped the spade connectors clean off. Especially those I had to removed when taking the head off to be worked.

I am replacing the tape with green mesh cable tidy tube (only those bits seen in the engine bay, I am that vain!)....keeping up the green theme. I will also be replacing the bullet connectors with proper multi pin plugs

I am currently sailing around the North Sea (http://www.marinetra...ddate=lastknown) surveying the sh*t out of the seabed.

The morning I left home i got a large parcel of goodies, my new valve springs, 1.5 forged rockers, new green silicon hoses, and new head bolts!

Its going to be a few weeks until I can do anything with them unfortunately.

That is the million dollar question....

I hope to be away untill the start of February, home in time for my wedding anniversary as I have holiday booked, but could before that.
