Not everyone who owns a classic mini is an enthusiast though, and it's really only fellow enthusiasts who are likely to wave. If you just happen to own a mini as your everyday car, then you're not that likely to wave at other people just because they drive the same car as you.

Admittedly these days there probably aren't that many people who own classic minis merely as a form of transport. But they are still quite popular with eccentric types who have no interest in classic cars, or the mini scene, but still want to drive something a little different. As above there are also a few middle aged/elderly mini owners left, who have owned their model since it was an everyday mainstream production car, and happen to still be driving it now.

If however you are an enthusiast who goes to mini shows and the like, then I have to say that not waving is just plain miserable!! :P

Manic grin, horn blast, headlight flash and out of the window wave all obligatory round my way, and almost always returned.

A wave, a flash and usually an arm out of the window.

I have missed a few people as I was looking elsewhere, albeit briefly of course. By the time I see them they may not see my wave, if this does happen rest assured that I apologise as I continue on my journey.

I always wave and flash my lights. Such a nice feeling when others do it back :)

I'm usually too busy staring at the car, then I remember to wave when I'm halfway down the road >_<

Wave, flash, beep, hang out of the window, climb through the sunroof etc. Whatever I deem necessary.

Yay! You've all restored my faith in the mini driver …hmmm thinking back, all the non return wavers were quite on the 'elderly' side. Maybe they just needed a visit to Specsavers! Hahaha

I had a 'mutual stare at' with an owner of a classic beetle. As we passed we both looked at the cars and then gave a nod. :shades:

They're so rare to see round here that when I do see one I either miss it completely and wave like a lunatic at the car behind, or in shock get giddy steer off the road a bit and then try and wave and steer all at the same time

Either way it never looks good >_<

I always flash and/or wave when I see one, most of the time it's returned but not always. Although I was driving down the M40 on Saturday, and an old Mercedes 300D took the time to overtake me, then put his hazards on and give two thumbs up! Dead chuffed :-)
