Extreme positive camberage going on there

It's really coming along now :gimme:

Vinnie pissed petrol all over the garage floor just after I got him :( . Even though it was my fault it took me a couple of weeks before I forgave him :shy:

Good job chaps :) I'm glad they designed the Fiat Punto specifically to carry an engine crane in the back.

byes engine!

quick thing, when you get the engine out and its on the crane, lower it so its closer to the floor before moving it. if the ropes break and it falls little or no damage will be done. from that height any sort of bad things can happen!

I like the... A small tiff occurred.

I assume the 182 is your brothers.... Trying to steal his engine and put it in the mini? :P

Yeah it's his, and no way :P that would be gay.

Sh*t son! Almost a whole page with no stupid pics. I hope you have a pic of you hanging craig off the crane after you tiff lol.

LOL you'll have to wait and see :D

Haha yeah I'm not too sure why it's gone like that really, wasn't like that before we jacked it up :S probably damage to the shock mounts. :D

Cheers Josh, and cheers for the crane!!! :D

Enjoyed doing it this weekend Simon ^_^ NICE WORK  can't wait till she's done and we're rolling in style again :-)

Simons next job is to remove the interior and the a few remaining bits which hes planning on doing tomorrow (Brightwork etc) And then tackle the engine! with a degrease and paint and a nice little overhaul before it goes back in :-) with his utter perfectionist attitude I think it's gonna come out amazing and cant wait!!! :-)

So today has been a very demoralizing day.

I went out to try and get it all ready to be picked up on Wednesday (I'm working Tuesday) by Duncan, but I was hit by problem after problem :(

It's also shown me just how much work there is that needs to be done, and it all feels a little overwhelming.

Anyway, here's the pictures from today: (Sorry for the bad quality, had to take them on my phone since the camera's still being a fag)

Lights out:

Arches off:

Interior out:

One of the windscreen wipers wouldn't come off, and here's the damage done to finally get it off:
Posted Image
It's still infuriating doing that much damage to the car, even though I know it's being replaced :P

State of the engine bay now (this is probably how Duncan is going to recieve it):

Car back in the garage:

And as promised, a shot of the engine:

I can't get the radio out atm because it's stuck in the slot, even using radio keys, so I can't get the dash out either. So I've come in a might try and get a few bits done tomorrow night after work, but if not Duncan's just gonna have to take it as it is. :)

Thanks for looking,

Simon.

(P.S. Sorry for such a serious post, but it's been an unproductive day and I feel rubbish!! :P :P)

Definatly take the mater cylinders off. Any brake fluid trapped under there will ruin the paint job and be not good:(

Top progress though bud!

Don't lose hope buddy! Sooner it's all out and you've got a complete idea of what's ahead of you, the better the end result will be. I know you can do it :D

So today I finally got the car fully ready to be taken away :D

It took quite a while, doing lots of small bits, but it was productive, so, here are the pictures:

How it started:

Got everything out bar the wiring loom:
Posted Image

Got the dash, top dash rail cover, pedals/ pedal box and heater out of the interior:
Posted Image

Here's just a picture to show the condition the scuttle is in on the inside of the car; suprisingly good!!
Posted Image

And finally, got the battery, spare tyre and fuel tank out of the boot:

Unfortunately the fagmachine wasn't with me today to help, but I just thought I'd add in a special thanks to him today for helping me get this far with it, and that I wished he was here with me to finish the taking apart job

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

The date for the car to be collected has been set to be the 27th February :D So I'll have more updates then!

Thanks for looking everyone :)

Oh, also, took a picture of it sitting in the garage ready to go:

Someone should make this thread into a movie. It's got everything: romance, comedy, puppies, car accidents, protagonist making a come back... All it needs is a happy ending.....
