Im 27 and haven't liked radio 1 for years. The only recent time they were any good was when john peel died and they swayed back to up and coming bands for a while but then i guess the superstar djs started worrying that the music was getting more attention than themselves and went back to talking **** and playing whatever gash Simon cowel churned out this week.

I used to listen to 1089 talk sport as it used to be topical and current affairs, but now it does what it says on the tin and only talks about sport.

Radio Leeds is good in the afternoon, and i sway towards capital or radio 2 in a morning. I guess i look for more talking, if i want music ill stick a cd on rather than being brain washed by beiber, jls, wand erection, etc etc

Can't stand radio 1, the work radio is set to kerrang, otherwise it'd radio 2. Mind you I don't mind Sarah cox on radio 1 at the weekends.

Absolute rad 90s on dab is superb and makes me want to get dab in the car.

Local radio annoys me to the point of violence, "the big eastenders vs corry, which is best debate", endless adverts and the same song on repeat.

Radio 1 or Radio 2 with Chris Evans on a morning, then on an evening its Absoloute 80's when we bath the dinks and dance around being daft getting them dry :D :D :D

In the car the teens insist on having Capital FM and we feel right ole farts :mmkay:

If I have music on it is usually my own choice that's in the multichanger (MINI) or memory stick (Sprite). If I have the radio on it's Radio 2 or 3 for me. Sounds of the '60's on Staurday ornings is excellent. Sometimes Classic FM gat s a listentoo if I come accross a piano concerto of string quartet, full blown symphonies are a bit much in the car. Can't stand the commercial stations 'because of the ads, and local radio is like watching the local news on TV, dull.

PS I have not tuned into Radio 1 since John Peel passed away.

I hate commercial radio.

I think the Radio 1 DJs during the week are quite entertaining. Vermin Kay is ok at the weekend but I can't stand Sara Cox. She does my head in. I'm not too much of a fan of most modern music but most of it is bearable. Sometimes a song will come on that I hate so much I'll put the Cd on instead. Radio 1 news is terrible.

At work we listen to BFBS. The DJs are absolutely rubbish but you do keep up to date with lots of relevant stuff. The music is a good mix and the adverts are advertising events and stuff as opposed to useless crap products.

Radio 5 for football commentary if I am in the car.

I listen to Radio 1 as adverts drive me nuts, but will change to the CD (currently stereophonics) when it annoys me.

By the way, a slight deviation but if you like the 60s and pirate radio, watch 'The Boat That Rocked'. A quality film.

I don't like radio 1 anymore, it's not nearly as good as it was when they had Colin Murray, Edith Bowman and Jo Whiley on. It seems like prime time is just a group of personalities rather than DJs who are really into music.

As surfblue said above,Radio 1 died for me also when John Peel left the planet.
I now listen to real old man radio, Londons LBC which is all talk,my wife hates it with a passion, but I really get involved in it.
Saying that Frank Skinners show on Absolute is brilliant,I would recommend the Podcast to anyone.
