I'm 17, and whenever i post in technical, i always say "but dont hold me on that" because i might not be right, as i know comparatively little compared to many people on this forum. (although i do have some form of prior knowlage before posting, im not just saying somehting completly random )

I just moan at people that think everyone should drive around in standard minis at 55mph

I think every TMF member should be banished to one room for a day. This would sort the boys from the men.

Yeah, pretty fed up with the attitudes of some people. For instance, all the 'log book warriors' who were wrong about an early Mk3 Mini that was on eBay a week or two ago. I felt so sorry for all the abuse the guy was getting I sent him an email explaining the details of why his car was genuine.

There's always two sides to a story although I didn't direct a post at him or about him in anyway, he just saw a post that I posted a few days ago that he didn't like and decided to send me an abusive message about it!

I dont bother posting in the technical section anymore, as although ive been working with cars since i was 12, and classic cars since i was 16, an completed an apprenticeship and qualified level 3 mechanic, and had a lot of involvement with building and tuning a-series engines that win races and last all season, i know nothing, some kid normally knows more than me, so screw it, whats the point in spending my time trying to help someone, only to be told im wrong?

Because the majority of us amateurs actually really appreciate all the expert help we can get here from people such as yourself and without all the input from experts, this place just wouldn't be the place that it is. Just because a handful of immature idiots don't appreciate the help and invaluable advice they are getting here for free, doesn't mean that you shouldn't help out the rest of us who really do value your contribution.

The other issue is that advice you post here doesn't just benefit the person who it's aimed at. Even when you do give advice out to an unappreciative idiot, other people here with the same problem will read the thread and learn from your advice & guidance.
