Nah!!..... Mister Paddy loves me like only a mother could!!!

....(or probably more like some random, anonymous, Yorkshireman, with three minis could!! O_O )

That probably sounds more like it... he is a strange fellow :shades:

I don't have a problem with the scene but the forum is getting worse as of late, particularly:
  • I HATE BMW MINI mentality. Some people don't like old rust buckets. Live and let live.
  • Militant anti-swearing campaign. It's the internet, there's a lot worse than some fúcking swearing.
  • Ever blurring line between 'Problems, Questions, Technical' and 'Mini Chat'.
  • Pretentiousness. "I drive a classic mini, therefore I am king of cool".
  • The know it all crash experts. The amount of crash threads that end in 'WOMEN DRIVERS.' or 'clearly their fault'. You know only what one party has told you, of course they're going to be bias. If you were friends with the other party you'd be on their side. Stay out of the blame and just offer help on the best way to sort the damage.
Good to have a rant. It's not everyone, just a minority.

I think every TMF member should be banished to one room for a day. This would sort the boys from the men.

Yeah, pretty fed up with the attitudes of some people. For instance, all the 'log book warriors' who were wrong about an early Mk3 Mini that was on eBay a week or two ago. I felt so sorry for all the abuse the guy was getting I sent him an email explaining the details of why his car was genuine.

Which MK3 was that?

I dont bother posting in the technical section anymore, as although ive been working with cars since i was 12, and classic cars since i was 16, an completed an apprenticeship and qualified level 3 mechanic, and had a lot of involvement with building and tuning a-series engines that win races and last all season, i know nothing, some kid normally knows more than me, so screw it, whats the point in spending my time trying to help someone, only to be told im wrong?

Because the majority of us amateurs actually really appreciate all the expert help we can get here from people such as yourself and without all the input from experts, this place just wouldn't be the place that it is. Just because a handful of immature idiots don't appreciate the help and invaluable advice they are getting here for free, doesn't mean that you shouldn't help out the rest of us who really do value your contribution.

The other issue is that advice you post here doesn't just benefit the person who it's aimed at. Even when you do give advice out to an unappreciative idiot, other people here with the same problem will read the thread and learn from your advice & guidance.

Agreed! Couldn't put it better myself.

Please don't stop giving advice and hints & tips.
