Yep - I think you're right.  As soon as I fitted it I liked the look of it.

Looks good

Cheers!

Got a quote this morning for a re-trim of the fabric roof from R&S Coachbuilts which is a bit eye-watering, but it needs doing and is the final piece in the jigsaw - it's a Britax Weathershield, not a Webasto (I discovered this a few years ago by doing some research) and Britax stuff has been discontinued for many years.  R&S still have access to Webasto stuff and they can re-manufacture the hard to get hold of bits from the existing Webasto bits.

My roof needs a full re-trim as well as both internal plates and sliders.  Should be done in a week to 10 days though which is great news!! Just not sure how I'm paying for it......(flexible friend) ;)

Well....after 11 and a bit years, and 2 days of tweaking, adjustments & re-tests I finally have MOT and tax on the old girl!  Chuffed. to. bits.

Now very skint - but I have a Mini to hoon around in in this gorgeous weather......and if it starts raining now for the rest of summer it's probably my fault!

:) :) :) :) :)

Mint!  :gimme:

Congrats on the ticket-to-ride. About bleedin' time.

Love the contrast with the grille & the body colour. Beautiful face.

How does she drive?

Cheers Juju....drives OK-ish....got some dizzy vacuum advance issues which I'm delving into.  I have been driving her around though, no long distances yet, just bombing around town.

Can't stop smiling every time I drive her! :)

Still waiting for my bleedin' Britax roof to turn up - not really been able to drive her about 'because of it (can't really park her up anywhere) :(

Anyways - another issue I've got is I managed to fit the cooling fan the wrong way round - I didn't have the fan spacer so I fitted it in a way that it didn't clash with the breather stack. And to be fair it looked right the way I've fitted it (but it is wrong).

Seeing as I've got to remove it I decided to look out for an export fan to keep things a little cooler (apparently their good for tuned engines?) and I found a secondhand bashed one on ebay which I won for £9 delivered.  A bit of bashing, straightening and painting and she's good as new (in body colour of course!) and I have a clubman fan spacer too......

Job for the weekend!

Very nice

Cheers!

Britax roof finally turned up today after a few weeks of phonecalls and discussions and delays.......it's a new old stock roof from R&S Coachbuilts - a Britax Weathershield Duo which would've originally been fitted to an Austin Maxi (so it's a bit bigger than the ones fitted to Minis).

Looks like it's going to fit perfectly!!  I haven't installed it properly yet as I need to finish off restoring the front plate (that the roof latches into).

Gonna be a job for the weekend.  Can't believe I finally have a new roof.......sooooo chuffed!  :) :)

Cheers guys - I love it to bits.

Just fitted the export fan and refitted the radiator - hopefully tomorrow I'll be filling with coolant and re-fitting the other odds & sods that I took off to do the rad fan and she'll be back on the road (with a properly cooled engine!)

That looks really smart. Works really well with the orange paint and 10" wheels
