Aldon red d45, but looking at the down load off the website i'm thinking of getting an ignitor.

You will have to write a review on here when you get it.

I will probably end up buying one

That seems to have quite a few benefits over megajolt!

Although looking at it, it would not be as accurate. Losing some accuracy through the dizzy.

Megajolt is better than a dizzy easily, just run it, its reprogramable or if not megajolt go for one that can run injection aswell so if you deside later you want to go injection the system is there ready to use

I think the comment that Smart performance are responsible for a ring failure should be removed. You have no evidence of this. My guess is that you have detonation which has caused the head gasket failure and piston failure. As Phil says, more likey ring lands than rings. So the reality is that either your installation is flawed and either making too much heat or the CR is too high. Or possibly the RR guy ran it lean or with too much advance.

No. 4, failing would definately suggest to much heat and running into det. Your engine may benefit from dry decking and a bypass hose on the flywheel end of the engine.

In my experience of failed ring lands, little damage is done to the bore. A new set of pistons and a hone should be all that is needed. You could maybe consider a piston with a bigger dish.

Out of interest could having the cam timing out 9 degrees (116 degrees) cause detonation ?

What are the benefits over mega jolt?

Don't need to scratch around getting bits, installing trigger wheel etc, use existing dizzy, cheaper. looks easier to install. I'll be on the phone to them tomorrow to place my order. Exciting stuff.

So if I wanted a basic supercharged set-up (not silly power) - a supercharger kit, plus this Aldon Amethyst bits, a quick RR set up and off you go?
