each to their own - I like them - remember they split up over 42 years ago

they inspired a lot of bands

most of their early stuff was mono & their songs were short

most of their songs told a story

My fav are Eleanor Rigby , Help , cant buy me love , hey Jude , & a few more

don't ask me to explain - I am the walrus

as said above - The Beatles - the mini - the same era

Iv never had a connection with the beatles. I love music and its a passion of mine and my music taste is broad and spans different eras but i just really dont like the beatles...dont see what all the fuss is about.

Anyone else? Or should i go and lock myself in a cupboard somewhere?

Anyone else have this kind of feeling about other bands/books/films?

I think every Autotune and vocoder should be buried at the bottom of the Atlantic along with Maroon 5 and anyone who bought their records - they sound like Sparky's Magic ****ing Piano!!!

John Lennon and George Harrison were two of the greatest songwriters of the last 100 years - strange how the Beatles are dying off in order of ability though...!!

I dont get the beatles.... more into my heavier stuffs, but it all develops from somewhere in some form. the beatles were inspired from else where. im sure some of the bands i listen to have listened to the beatles before.

but of all things... at least they wrote music themselfs...unlike this modern pop/chart rubbish, someone else writes the "lyrics" ie repetitive, appauling dreivel, someone else steals the basic tune from an old 90's dace tune and then throws it through a maze of auto-tune till its almost unrecognisable

just because you don't like something that doesn't make it rubbish.

I have a wide appreciation of music but some things like modern jazz leave me cold, however I know that it holds pleasure for many.

The Beatles were/are iconic and defined a generation of music which has inspired many later musicians and genres.

:-)

I feel exactly the same. None of them could sing or play an instrument very well. And the songs are just boring and meaning less.

I will tell you what dude try playing some of the songs on a guitar, see if you can manage the cords
