anyone know how to lower it with out buying a hilow kit ??

Ok, Start again we will. Answer the question correctly i shall.

Yes, know "i" how to lower it without buying a hilow kit!

Sorted.

Oh, You actually want to know yourself how it is done.

cannot afford a hilow you can?

for 25mm lower cut rear trumpets by 5mm. cut front trumpets by 8.3333333333333r mm reinstall trumpets, mind your fingers ( i have done this, i now have only 3 fingers on each hand) ride around for a week to settle suspension.

Go to ASDA car park and find parking space.

sit with arm hanging out of window.

wear rayburns, and look cool.

Ah, a Design Student. I guess that means that anything can be turned from an excellent engineered product into a triumph of perceived style over actual functionality.
As a qualified aerospace and mechanical engineer I looked at that 'stanceworks' and the stuff on there all looks like it is broken and/or has collapsed suspension.
What sort of style statement is it making? Maybe "Look at this stuff - well, look at it, 'cause you can't actually use it on the roads".

Find i think you shall.

The question answered early was.

No harm pointing out dangers and downside there is.

My opinion this is.

Let the OP decide once information is gathered.

No point in bickering there is.

I love how Yoda actually talks in that way on here! Haha!

Although I'd like to have my input here; I've lowered my car very slightly, using adjusta rides. Not to the point where it ruins my handling though, as I care about that too. But some don't care about optimal handling, the car may have other issues and it's not worth trying to make it handle that well, or maybe he doesn't get the chance to drive fast roads, so it's not worth it?

I'm not going against your opinions, at all, because they are very much correct and fair, although I'd have to agree it is completely up to him if he wishes to lower the car, and he did only ask how to do it, not for the benefits. :)

As a qualified aerospace and mechanical engineer you should also be able to appreciate the amount of work that goes into those cars to make them sit how they do, it's the same principle as you doing everything you possibly can to make your mini handle and perform as well as possibly can. Some people prefer form over function and even if dislike what they are doing you have to give them respect for doing what they do, as im sure they would respect you for your almost endless knowledge on everything to do with minis.

well i run my mini on standard ride height with some suspensions mods and it handles and looked great imo. but now i have hi-lo's in because i do sprints, hillclimbs and classic rallies with the mini so its handy to be able to drop it really low for the sprint and hill climbs, then for rallying wind it up nice and high so it dosnt catch rocks etc as much

this is just the rambelings of an idiot, so listen if you want or not either way

I fear for this country, because those design students will end up in higher paid jobs than engineers, and will end up having far too much power and influence. We will get cars that look nice, but are a right heap of trash, and some that don't even look nice, and are a pile of trash.

One of the main reasons for the success of the Mini was that Issigonis kept designers away from it. It was all done by engineers, with a brief bit of fiddling about by the stylists, who were not allowed to make significant changes to the shape that fitted the engineering.
