Remember the original thread was "FLASH A MINI"

i thougt 'flashing' was illegal... surely if i stopped and 'flashed' at a mini id get arrested for indecent exposure :ermm:

Basically BMW got the shape, drive and character or the Bini completely wrong.

Alex Issigonis is a god. Plus he's Greek, which is where most of the gods are from.

So

Bini's = BLAND, BORING, CORPORATE, IMITATATION BOAT.

Minis = BRILL, FUN, SOULFUL, ORIGIONAL CAR.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have some serious vodka binging to do. Thankyou very much.

one more example before I go,

You get into a Bini and drive it for ten minutes then stop. Your face = :w00t: :dozing: :dontgetit:

You get behind the wheel of an origional mini, then stop. Your face = :ermm: :w00t: :genius:

Er yah, back to drinkin', I'll catch you guys tommorow!

Why is the Bini actually called a mini? It's too big to be a mini!!

i agree with most here a classic mini is something to admire something to be pround of, so a flash acknoledges this. the bini owners are like the new kids in town with their stick on bits trying to 'hang out' with the classics but it just doesn't work. as for the build quality, well tell me if i'm wrong but bmw make fr (front engine rear wheel drive) cars and have done for some while, so changign to ff (front engine front wheel drive) was a stepin the wrong direction. i reckon someone else should have bought the use to the name mini, and call the bini something else. then things might have been different

The Mini evolved from the early model into a later version as shown in a thread earlier. The MINI will probably evolve in the same way over time. What can't happen is for one species to evolve into a completely new species so to say the MINI evolved from Mini is incorrect as it is a completely different vehicle.

I like Herby's comment that they could only afford to run one car (ahh)......if I had the money to buy a BMW I could afford at least three Minis!

I have also sent an email to BMW to tell them I had spotted a number of fake Minis on their website and included a pic of a real one for comparison........no reply yet! ;D

I need a reliable car for work as some days it has to do 120 miles. Yes i agree i could buy three classic mini`s for what i paid for my bini, But i would have to spend a lot of money on it to keep it up to scratch so i could reley on it for work, That is why i own a NEW MINI and not a CLASSIC MINI.
