Classic minis can flash eachother because it's a more exclusive car and more enthusiasts drive it, the new mini is owned by a larger number of people some of whom are not car enthusiasts (estate agents lol).

BMW seem to be copying things that afflilated with the classic mini, and things that have been done for a long time.

NEW MINI`S - Estate Agents & Motoring Schools.

Can you name a motoring school that lets you learn to drive in a classic mini.!!

We have gone off the original thread.!!

Theres a few near me, i don't remember the names tho as i don't need an instructor.

And BMW are scumbags, they did make a VERY nice small hatchback but styled and named it in order to give it the personality of a classic,

oh and as for flashing, I flash all classic cars... to congratulate them for getting it running.

New MINIs are too common did someone say?

Well they are but do you have any idea at all how common the Mini was in the 60's? They were absolutely everywhere. Look at any old motoring photo (like the ones they have in the classic mags) from that era and you'll see more Mini's than anything else. They were a lot more common than MINIs are today.

in the spirit of fairness, i tried flashing every bini i saw the other day. how many flashed back? not one of of the ten i saw. maybe this should be a new quest -try to get binis to flash us and get a little understanding going?

no, thought not.

A lot of people are learning to drive with a couple of our motoring schools because they have new mini`s. But you cant learn in a new mini convertible. You try reversing in one with the top up. You cant see a bl^^^y thing. Glad they have reversing censors.

The MINI marketing is really clever, and has been quite good at trying to re-create the smile of driving the classic

but hold on its 2006 so seeing a propper mini on the roads is more of a rare site than it was in the 60's in 40 odd years there will be bini forums like this complaing about non starting binis and the plastic is falling off their doors and stuff... might even get full restorations haha

Give over! the MINI isnt trying to be an immitation of the classic, its an EVOLUTION! things move forward, so should you lot!
dont get me wrong, i am obsessed with the classic mini, but i quite like the MINI, i see it as a completely different car to the mini, and compared to other modern cars, it is small.
And if im being honest, my fiancee is looking at getting one.

Rant over

It's not evolution ..

Evolution is VW making the new Beetle .. Because VW made the old Beetle, therefore they have evolved that car ..

If Austin made the new MINI, fair enough, that's evolution. But, they didn't ..

:D

i agree with the others there is way to many bini's around, and the evolution thing well, evolution is thesame car or thing changing (evolving) into something diffrent (better), but BMW would have had to own the classic mini to be able evolve it, an ive tried flashing to the bini owners but they ignore me like i dont exist so i say :D them
