What you have to remember is flashing head lights to tell another driver to come out in front of you is against the law.

I'm sorry. I must have lost my sense of irony or sarcasm since I left Northampton 'because I have no idea what any of your responses have to do with anything I've actually written!?

Perhaps driving a BMW for too long has somehow made your sense of humour more "germanic"? Schwaebisch from the tone......

Yeah......

And after my first thread we'd discovered that a Bini is actually a BMW 0.5 series (and that you're not happy you paid extra for a gold one.)

After that I now have to not flash them because it's illegal.

I'm confused.......!? :D

To be fair, if you read Herby's posts in this topic, he doesn't seem to insult the classic mini at all, but pretty much all other posts are insulting his car. Now thats not fair at all. He is clearly a car enthusiast, so we can atleast respect him for that and stop this pointless argument.

I don't believe I've ever insulted his car or him personally (and If I have I do apologize). I've also said that I will wave nicely to gold Binis around the Northampton area!

What I have said is that "most" Bini driver won't even have a clue whats going on with the flashing thing, wouldn't recognise a classic Mini if it bit them on the a55 and said, "Hi, I'm a real Mini", and that the use of the Mini name on the Bini is both a mis-description and shouldn't lead to the assumption that all Bini owners will flash and vice-versa.

I have no problem with friendly drivers of any variety, (even white van drivers, but friendly versions of those are few and far between!) and I will flash driver of many vehicles (especially of the same make of the one I'm in!), but I don't expect to be "ordered" to do it. I will do it out of common decency thankyou, and I believe that while most Mini drivers will also do it for those reasons, most Bini (and BMW) owners would need a map and a guide dog to find an ounce of common decency (Herby being one of the exceptions of course)

Sorry Pikey, I wasn't directing it at you, it was a general comment about all the replies in this thread.
