Got the engine and box split today ! Just before it got dark. Was quite simple thought it would be harder than that!

Done a bit to the shell today ! Got the mk1 switch panel welded in ready for a skim of filler
Here it is clamped ready for double cutting

Welded and ground down !

Bare metalled the whole lot as there was some spider rust under the paint

Just bought some new wire wheels so I will be cleaning up the inside behind dash, floor and bulkhead for a coat of etch !

Cheers mate :) can you not straighten it out? How did it get bent ???

Update!
Been workin in the van all morning got the front floors cleaned up and some of the bulkhead plus welded spreader plates over the subframe mounts as I will be solid mounting the front subframe!

I've got solid mounts for the front. 

 

Is it literally weld thicker plate on the inside and drill the bolt holes out to put the bolt through?

Yep the plates that are spot welded standard over the holes don't spread rhe load enough which makes the toe board crack. A double the size piece of metal with holes in for plug welding put over the top and seam welded around the edges should sort you out ! :)

It's looking good only a few little bits to weld up now then it's on to sorting out the filler ! You will get to this stage soon !

Put it on its side today to clean it up with the wire wheel a bit !
